Campfire damage
After killing a unique monster with a ranger, running in circles around a campfire/bonfire, I noticed that standing over it just did no damage.
I don't know if it is so only in normal difficulty or they are always as is. But, I think it would be nice for them to do some -or lots, as in real world- damage to the player (and maybe to the monsters walking over it?), because it just feels too unreal to be a fakir having no fire resistance... Yup, they never do damage. I make it a point to always bake myself a little whenever I pass one of those fires, just to taunt the game a little.

Have to admit, I was a little disappointed by this as well.
I think environmental fire should hurt. It's fire, after all. Fire hurts. I know, because lots of things throw fire at me. It hurts. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Patch 0.9.9
Added support for ground fire and other environmental hazards. Who knows, they could be adding it sometime soon EDIT: Jump on those camp fires while we still can =) Last edited by Metronomy#6891 on May 30, 2012, 8:16:06 AM

" Would be cool to have some icy place (like the mountain caves in Diablo 2) that does ice damage over time, or with an electrical storm weather that could hit you... maybe just a grinding place. Indie games reviews http://www.BitMaiden.com Last edited by ketero#0569 on May 30, 2012, 2:58:42 PM

This patch note relates to a skill and not the camp fires btw

I just look at it this way: Wraeclast doesn't exactly hate us, because it's a continent and continents can't have feelings.
But it would if it could. It would make every moment a threat of danger, and every element a source of possible pain. Wraeclast would believe in tough love, in the stick and not the carrot. Wraeclast is where the worst of Oriath learn all about why we're taught not to play with fire as kids. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" Likewise here. Enviromental damage would be excellent - maybe as well as fire and ice damage for campfires and icy areas, the fetid pool air would do a very slow poison damage while you're in the especially foggy fetid bits. By the way CharanJaydemyr, I like the second half of your siggie a lot :) |
