Can't use whisper/trading with controller support, but normal chat works

When I'm trying to whisper I can't type anything with my keyboard, it's preventing me to use trading with controller support. Otherwise chat works normally, it's only when theres a whisper open.
I wanted to tell the person that I was trying to figure it out how to accept his invitation (controller newbie) but I can't talk in whispers it seems.
Replication:
ctrl+c/v a buy order from trade, try to type anything to the person, can't.
pls fix
