CI Lightning Arrow Guide!



Passive Skill Tree!:
Burning Arrow Ranger

NO COLD DAMAGE, RUINS YOUR WHOLE BUILD, BECAUSE ENEMIES WILL SHATTER INSTEAD OF BURN.

I used this build in last league, managed to get 200k+ DPS with crit flask because of AoF.


Gems:
Burning Arrow + Weapon Elemental Damage + Added Fire Damage + Elemental Proliferation + Increased Crit Damage

Anger + Grace + Reduced Mana Cost

Vulnerability + Temportal Chains + Increased Area of Effect + Increased Duration

Phase Run + Increased Duration


Gear:
Crit Damage
+x/+x Fire > Lightning Damage
+x% Fire > Lightning Damage
Resist CAP 75% > Evasion > Armor
30% Movement speed boots
Flask bonus/Stun reduction Belt

No attack speed because you only have to fire once.


Flasks:
1x Divine Mana Flask with slow regeneration.
4x Diamond Flasks (1x Dispel Frozen and 1x Dispel Burn! )


Why Burn? (WIKI):
If you land a critical strike with an attack or spell that deals fire damage, the enemy begins Burning. Burning causes damage over time. Humanoids, Monkeys and Sea Witches will flee while burning.

Basic burning effects last 4 seconds, and the amount of damage over time is 1/3 of the initial fire damage dealt, per second. So a total of 4/3 of the original damage, over 4 seconds. Total burning damage can be increased with skill gem bonuses, passive skills, and item mods that increase burning damage. In addition, the Vulnerability curse can increase burning damage.

THIS MEANS:
133% of your fire damage gets spread to all mobs in the area, but actually its 133% * Increased burn damage from passives * bonus from Vulnerability curse, resulting in a HUGE amount of damage. With the right gear you'll only have to pop crit flask, shoot once and watch the mobs burn to death while you run to next pack.

Struyk, as usual a hugely innovative, thoughtful and detailed build! Your dex isn't that high, and you don't have any accuracy rating boosters - does that matter on this build?

Not a big issue, you'll get a bunch of +dex from gear anyway and I even have a +200 accuracy helmet :D

I don't think ive had issues with dex with any build, if you do have issues take the +30 dex node in the middle.

Seems a nice build, but I guess its more meant for a near full respec on high level? Before you reach any usefull damage relatet passives you are around level 50? Very painfull to level up with nearly just dex/int nodes I fear.

Interesting build, I might try something like it but going about it slightly differently, to pick up more projectile damage, more crit chance and avoid energy shield so I can wear armor more suited to ranger stuff:

Any projectile damage is wasted.
Projectile damage is wasted? Why? I may be misunderstanding how projectile damage works, but I was under the impression it affected all damage from the projectile, including fire damage. Therefore, doing more fire damage, it would increase the size of the burn effect.

Again, I would have to test this.
If I had an Orb of Regret it'd be a piece of cake to test, look at elemental damage then remove a point in one of the skills and see if it drops. I'll try to hunt one up if you haven't tested it by the time I've got a free moment.
