Desert spring map boss stuck in travel phase

It happened around the middle of the way to second arena. The boss just stays underground and uses his attack and occasionally goes up to move 2 meters away into random direction and dives underground again. I wanted to make a video but while preparing the boss moved close enough to exit that it triggered him to travel to the arena.
