"Installation Directory must be on a local hard drive"

When running PathOfExileInstaller.msi on a Windows 7 PC with only one hard drive, trying to install the game to directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\ produces the topic error message. I've tried several different folders including the desktop and all produce the same error.
Right Click and choose Run As Admin...

Make sure the HDD has the full amount of space needed.

Reboot the system and try again.

Disable the AV...Try again.

OS: WinXP SP2 32bit
CPU: Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Ram : 4GB Kingston PC2-6400 5-5-5-18
Mobo: Abit KN9-Sli (NF570-Sli chipset with Realtek Audio)
GPU: ATI HD4670 1GB
HD: Maxtor 20GB - OS - Seagate 500GB - Games / Storage / PageFile
Network / ISP: Wired / Cox Cable
.msi files can't be run as admin. Already rebooted, have 107 GB free, tried disabling firewall and AV with no luck.
Start > Search > CMD > Right Click > Run as Admin > (mine drops me at the Documents and Settings\UserName) > CD Desktop (I assume you downloaded it to the desktop) > Msiexec /a pathofexileinstaller.msi

Same result?

I am assuming your WindowsInstaller 4.5 is damaged. If I am correct, you may need to usa an SFC / scannow, and/or the removal of the regkey.

-Edited changed CDM to CMD

Did you get this fixed, and if so, how?
OS: WinXP SP2 32bit

This is how I got it to work

Force the installer to run with administrator privileges.

To do so:

1. Locate the Edge Inspect MSI installer file that you downloaded.
2.While holding down the Shift key on the keyboard, right-click on the Edge Inspect MSI, then choose Copy As Path.
3. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories.
4. Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator. This should open a command prompt window, labeled "Administrator:".
5. In the Command Prompt window, type msiexec /i (you need to enter a single space after "/i").
6. Right-click in the Command Prompt window, then choose Paste. This should paste the path to the MSI file that you copied in Step 2 above.
7.Press Enter to run the command.
This worked for me! Running Windows 8 pro 64bit.

Thank you!
This also worked for me. I'm running Windows 7 x64.
Worked for me too... Windows 7 x64
