Gems that can't support still increase mana multipler

I've never noticed this before this league as I've had high-level gems linked to CWDT without a mana reservation or cost increase.

But, since 3.15, if anything at all is linked to a "Cast when", Arrogance, or Lifetap, it gains the mana multiplier even if not actually supported.

I primarily noticed this with auras and lifetap. But Level 4 CWDT gem is increasing my level 20 Warcry mana cost too.

This a bug or intended? Never seen it before despite playing since Harbinger League.

In the patch notes, 100% increased Mana multipliers for Trigger skills.

They're not being triggered.

Lifetap doesn't support Auras and a level 4 CWDT can't support gems that require higher than level 44. So I get all the negatives even when the UI itself shows that they don't support.

Perhaps I misunderstood, I am looking at your Helm on your Scion.
CWDT, Molten Shell, Lifetap and a Curse.
CWDT has a mana reservation multiplier now as does Lifetap.

I don't have them equipped, cause otherwise, my Precision costs 300 mana to reserve.

I'm beginning to think it's some weird combination of CWDT, Lifetap, and some item affix. Cause I'm currently unable to replicate it on the gloves at least. And I sold the item in question they were in. But it didn't have anything on it that interfaced with gems or sockets

Lifetap Support will support any skill, so will support a linked Precision and apply the 300% cost and reservation multiplier.

Since Precision doesn't cost mana (it has a reservation, which is different) the effect of Lifetap that changes mana cost to life cost doesn't do anything, but it's still supported.

Ah, that's probably, and kinda stupid imo since it makes linking more complicated.

But, I could've swore Lifetap didn't list Precision as supported when I tried it.

Oh well, thanks, at least I know the issue, as illogical as it is.
