Whats the highest non CI chaos resistance possible?

Looking to go LL but don’t want to use Shavronns Wrapper so need the highest a chaos immunity possible.

Have a vague recollection of seeing a build where the chaos resistance was much greater than 75%

Is it possible and if so how?

If you go LL but doesn't use shavs (I know there is another armour also doing this - just forgot the name), then you need to make sure that you either find another way so Chaos damage doesn't bypass ES or that you have a high life pool to handle this.....

resistance cap is 90%

you are looking for the mods that say "+X to maximum chaos resistance"

they exist as affixes on some influenced items, on passives, cluster passives, and perhaps on some unique items

90% sounds good to me.

Did a search as you suggested and could only find +1 to max chaos resistance which would only increase it to 76%. Maybe I'm missing something.

you will want to use shavs or solaris lorica(consider it a budget shavs) as stacking max chaos res takes alot of resources. being LL any source of chaos damage even at 90% chaos res will truck you to death within a few hits.


as for actual sources of +max chaos

first main thing would be divine flesh which gives +5 max, but this would not work on a LL build as it causes all damage to bypass ES.

other sources are on small cluster jewels with the born of chaos(+3 max) or antivenom(+1 max and other stuff)

there are some items that increase max chaos res as well(such as shields, getting +3 max chaos resist with +2 max all resists for +5 total).

I think high Chaos res would've fine LL without a bypass mechanic. LL is < 50% life. If you have even 75% chaos resistance at 50% life, you can take 2x as much chaos damage as someone with 0% resistance on full life or 3.2x as much damage as someone with -60%.

75 is plenty

Thought LL was <33% or <30%. With LL one tends to invest heavily in ES rather than life thus the life pool is low to start with even before the 70% reduction.

Seems cause a much bigger rework than I had hoped for.

I don't recall how much life I had on my old low life character but I don't think it was much higher than 400 or so. Only reserving 50% of life still brings that to maybe 700? 75 chaos resist probably won't be enough for that. 90 likely would be, but getting a little life investment (enough to survive with 75 chaos resist) is probably cheaper.
