I use the same build and want to warn people that all is not rosy when it comes to end-game maps.

Status ailments are really annoying to say the least, especially if you do maps in a large party where mobs don't die very quickly. It's not fun getting chilled every time you are hit with cold damage, or quickly getting shock stacked from lightning damage. Good luck against some bosses like Temple Piety. While you may be able to quickly zerg her down when solo, in a party you will likely have to stay back and let the ranged party members take her out.

There are many map mods and combinations thereof that make it difficult to use RF: blood magic, half regen, no regen, -max resists, elemental weakness, vulnerability. There are a variety of workarounds, such as using mana pots, overcapping your fire resists, using a Springleaf/Saffels/Rise of the Phoenix shield, toggling RF on/off with a dispels burning flask, letting your ES degen and relying on your life leech to keep replenishing it, etc. Of course, you can also run the map w/o using RF if you don't mind losing a significant amount of damage.

I don't think Freezing Pulse is the best skill to use in a RF/PA build that is keen on doing the highest level end-game maps. Since the pulse dissipates with range, you need to be in close range (essentially melee range for the best damage output). Because of this, you will be taking lots of hits. Combine this with the mechanics of status ailments (calculated based on your max HP), and it makes for some tough times.

Chilling does get annoying, but this happens to all CI builds. However, I can do all map mods solo or party all the way up to lvl 74 maps, havent had a chance to run higher ones. The hardest Piety I faced was 3 projectiles with 3 balls. Just an idea, 80k dps you can one shot every white/magic mob, rares die in 2-3 crits, unique dies in 3-5 seconds and freeze lock is possible...in party runs btw. For players that are not as geared, you can always lvl up an ice spear and use it in boss fights (will be adding this to the guide). Meanwhile, the defense of this build is also exceptional, capping 95%+ resist with flask, more than enough armor with granite...if this build isn't capable of killing boss easily in party plays, other builds can only perform worse. The hardest map I cam across so far is double totem with faster casting+5 additional projectiles in underground sea, there was no way I could go up close. Since then I bring a fireball with me just in case. Still currently working on range version though, ice spear/firball

Finished my Fireball version of this spec.

There are a few nitpickery things I can do with passives/gear/gems/links. For instance pick up a Hrimnor's Resolve helm for fire dmg and chill resist, rainbowstrides, play with GMP/mana pots, mess with Blast Radius/Amplify. I could get a little crazy...5/6L Shiver/Ice Spear Totem/Elemental Equilibrium/Added Light Damage/Serpent Stance/Static Blows and pick up monster ES helm/boots (way too orb poor to try this anytime soon...but sounds awesome).

I decided to post here instead of making my own guide. Posting my own guide would be of little use as I essentially copied the majority of the passives/gem combos/items in this guide. @OP Thanks for making this thread, your guide was an excellent template to work from. I'm not posting to steal thunder, argue what is "better", or posting #'s to inflate e-peenery. Simply showing another option of this spec for those interested. I will say that this spec is super fun.

STATS

HP/ES/Mana:
678 HP
6600 ES (low will try to upgrade helm to hit 7-7.5k)
190mana regen
480 usuable mana

DPS
11k with Fire Pen
14K with Faster Casting
I prefer Fire Pen as it's more mana efficient. Worst scenario = dmg to fastcast, best scenario (curse immune/resist fire) waaay more damage.

Auras:
Into HP-Vit-Pur-Haste-Low lvl grace
Into mana-Clar-disc
Blood Raging it up as well.

P.S. This is far from "perfect" tweaks welcomed.

Thank you for sharing, do you mind if I share your fireball version at the end of my freezing pulse version? If so please pm me for gem set up etc, and how do you deal with reflect mobs??
I just leveled to 82 and tried using a shield beside springleaf and I don't see how it's done! 85% fire res, 506 health. RF didn't decrease my health at all, but without the insane regen I was killed pretty fast. I donno, just not good enough to only rely on life leech I guess.

also hrimnor's resolve is a nice item for people who hate getting chilled
in that case I would use high es boot& glove to compensate for the es lose.

do you have vitality aura up?
You are more than welcome to add my Quasi-Guide to the end of yours. I'll have to go back and make it more informative later. To answer your question on reflect, I lucked out being fire. I carry ruby flasks for the free 200ES/sec heal, I pop one and hit 98.2% fire rez and reflect is no longer an issue.

Current Setup:

The reduced charges meshes so well with ample, 3xpops on granite/ruby/chaos from full...4x on quicks. I will keep my ample quick and granite show above, the other I will shop for some 14/15+ amples with various curse immune/evasion rating/run speed mods. Maybe I'll sell ya that perfect quick/ward as it meshes very well with your charge gain mod.

Yes, it's level 19. Need 1 str to get level 20, but I'm not sure 1.45 vs 1.5 regen is the issue :P

6300, I realize with a good shield I could add like 1K plus to that and increase my regen amount... but the 6% regen (from shield) and 1.45% (vitality) on this current ES is really nice. I'd love to increase my over all ES and add some spell dmg/crit though if possible. Really just not seeing how to pull it off.

Above poster get that 1% life regen next to Body n Soul in temp tree, ditch spring for 250+ ES shield and you're golden. Knock out three points from Inner Force to Zealots, and go through power charge n duration to gain 1free passive.
