Clarification, using data from the new Performance UI
Hi GGG,
I took the new engine for a spin along with the performance metrics, which works as advertised and gave me a bit of insight into the way PoE utilizes the hardware. I have 2 questions however: 1. What metric are you using for showing the CPU usage out of max. I ask this because you system will correctly tell me the delay etc coming from the CPU however the Fill of the bar is very non consistent with the actual CPU usage. To take an example is the bar visually showing around 80% usage in hideout, while actual usage never exceeds 50%. On the other hand is it hovering from 90 to 100% when mapping, utilizing all of the available power. 2. What is PoEs requirement for having to access the Drive at any point during a map? It's clear that every time this happens to a point which is visually clear it instantly tanks the CPU, which is very much to be expected since accessing long term storage is a huge amount of clock cycles wasted, if the data could otherwise have been prepared in memory. To be clear this did not affect me personally to a big extend for the current ultimatum content and limited testing. For someone with a lesser SSD than a 3 or 4th gen m.2 nvme and a CPU to back it up, is a hard to track and potentially a huge problem.
