Why monsters still able to shotgun
6100HP + 4200ES + 1000 shield from Elemental Aegis, 50% phy reduction and all resistance 75%, one shot, didn't even have a chance to react, already happened several times in past few days.
Player already can not shotgun for a long time, but monsters still able to do that, it's not fair ok. Like I complained in my previase coc post, glass cannon is the only way to have fun in this game, defence can really go to hell now. Last bumped on May 23, 2021, 1:41:58 PM

Players can still shotgun the way mobs do its AoE overlap, like if you GMP fireball against a wall etc.
Can't deny I think its a bad mechanic though for monsters as it makes some of them excessive, I mistimed a move command against T16 Baran yesterday and got one shot (effectively) which is pretty stupid IMO considering its his default attack lol they could really use some controls on edge case scenarios for monsters, aoe overlaps, aura stacks etc |

" Oh, Baran is awful. Toughest conqueror imo. If you alch the map and he gets increased speed there seems to be no discernable queue for his default attack; it’s instantaneous one-shot city, seeming to track you perfectly while moving. I truly don’t understand how to beat it. It seems broken. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

They designed the conquerors as boss fights without map mods so Baran getting increased attack speed wasn't intended when the fights were created. I doubt they rebalanced or even considered a rebalancing when they gave us the option to juice them. So yeah, broken is probably a fairly accurate description of it.

It was my fault I got sloppy I just think its a little silly that his default attack does similar damage to a full telegraph like shaper slam lol
I participate in the gauntlet event everytime and Baran is like the scariest boss, extra proj and extra speed to go with the damage its choose your window wisely, i've not dared alch the watchstone map this league as a result try to keep him tame. |

Nothing beats blight mobs shotgunning. All firing projectiles at exactly the same moment, insta-rip if you're standing in the wrong spot.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.

i've build a tanky hardcore build (at least i tried)
and still got one shot with almost the same amount of ehp you have this game needs serious rebalance .... "There are Penalties in the Game, no one's complaining about them"

I mean, you can go fully bananas on maps to the level where it ain't funny anymore. I had a 150% quantity T16 Vaal temple with Maven influence, I died as soon as I entered the boss room several times. Took some very quick dodging to get the situation under control.

ye my toon got 1-shot by Baran just the other day on his default attack because I did alch the map for his citadel encounter. Risk vs. reward right, and after 4 deaths and -40% exp, I finally was able to beat him. Rewards weren't very rewarding though even with 90% quantity so basically I think it is white map or desireably rolled magic map from here on out on this guy. His dmg is ridiculous with extra boss mods stacked on him.
Even his white Baranite Thaumaturge mobs can be really deadly with their constant lightning circle tracking move while trying to avoid all the runes on the ground in tight spaces + the regular map mobs and their abilities. In ultimatums, for those Baranite mobs to spawn in + if you have a Sirus spawning in is even more deadly and occassional RIP to the whole encounter because of it.
