Where do I get Ethereal Knives?

So, I have been checking out a build for my witch which revolves around EK, the question is; is it a quest reward or do I have to acquire it in another way? I am quite new to the game, started playing 2 days ago. Thanks in advance:)

You will get it as an option for a quest reward. Not sure exactly which quest, but it should be before level 15ish.

Earliest looks like Witch/Shadow reward for "Breaking Some Eggs" (mudflats normal).

You either get skill gems from quest or from random drops. Here you can find all quest rewards for all the classes:

Looking at that page, you can see that you get Ethereal Knives from the quest "Breaking some eggs" on normal difficulty as a shadow or witch, so the best thing to do here would be to make a new character, shadow or witch, complete that quest and then give the gem to your main character.
