Hello there Exile, I finally came around to write a little Guide for my long-time (since Legion) league starter.

3.16 Balance Manifesto Notes:

I think the main take aways from the Manifesto for us are:
- Elemental Ailment Immunity will likely be easier to achieve
- Max Block should be easier to reach
- We will maybe loose some damage if we dan't find a way to use EE


As long as they don't break something the Build should be more then fine in 3.16



The Build is viable in 3.15!


3.15 Note:
The nerfhammer didn't spare us.
We lost ~40% Damage, which takes the Damage back as it was at the start of 3.14.

3.15 Changes

- Minion Damage Support now gives supported Minion Gems “25% less Life”
--> This basically renders it useless for us.

- Numerical Changes to most of our Support Gems
--> This will reduce our Damage by a bit, but we are still well off

- Mana Multipliers increased for most of our Gems
--> Casting SRS will cost ~63% more Mana, but since we can get some more Mana Regen or reduced Mana cost Crafts, we are able to mitigate it

- Elemental Ailment Crafts and stats did take a considerable hit
--> To get to 100% chance to avoid Elemental Ailment, you will need Synthesised Gloves with 25% chance to avoid

- Rumi’s was nerfed quite a bit
--> Block is still fine

Build Concept:
The Build is all about exploding Raging Spirits with the Minion instability Keystone and the Tavukai Unique Amulet. We use the Amulet and the Infernal Legion Support to make the Spirits take damage until they die and explode dealing damage based on their max life.
The Build can easily be played as a starter and will take you through all the content there is and will obliterate any Boss there is.
The build could be done without any Unique, but to not feel clunky and to not loose to much damage you will need at least the Tavukai Amulet.

5. Gear

5.1 Gear Progression overview

This section is meant to give you a short overview of how the progression of the different Gearslots could go. For further Details of the Gear checkout section 5.2 and 5.3

Most of our Gear slots have a straightforward gear progression “Get incrementally better Stats on them”.
But A Few slots influence our Gem-Setups namely our Chest and Rings.

The straightforward ones:

Amulet: Tavukai look for High Minion Life and Minion Damage rolls. Look for a low Chaos Resistance roll (-17 would be best for us)

Belt: you could use (Replica) Siege Breaker or (better) a Stygian Vise with Life, Resistances, Minion Life.

Wand: Any combination of (the more the better): Minion Life, Minion Damage, +1 all Skill Gems, +1 Minion Skill Gems

Shield: Recover Life on Block, Spell Block, Max Life, Resistances, Open Suffix (to craft Avoid Elemtal Ailments)

Gloves: Life, Resistances, Minion Life. Synthesised Implicit with Avoid Elemental Ailments

The not so straightforward:
Helmet:
Depending on its rolls and depending on the number of Links in your Chest you either socket your Zombie Setup or your SRS setup in the Helmet.
As long as you do have a 5- or 6-Link Chest and no Elder Helmet with at least two stats of “+Level of Socketed Minion Gems” and “Socketed Gems are supported by Minion Life/Concentrated Effect” you put your Zombie Setup in the Helmet.
If you only have a 4-Link Chest you can socketed your SRS in the Helmet right away.
Once you got an Elder Helmet with at least to of these stats you swap your Zombie and SRS setup.
Take care that you don’t socked a gem that is already on the Helmet (Minion Life/Conc Effect) when putting your SRS there.
Your Endgame Helmet will have be an Shaper+Elder Helmet with:
+3 Levels of Socketed Minion Gems
Socketed Gems are supported by Minion Life
Socketed Gems are supported by Concentrated Effect
Socketed Gems are supported by Hypothermia

Note: since 3.15 the minion damage support gem reduces the maximum Life of the Minions, which means less damage for us. Try to avoid it!

Body Armour:
A 6-Link Chest is Optional, the 6th-Link in both the Zombie or Spectre Setup would be “Feeding Frenzy” which gives you Movement and Cast Speed. Not having that doesn’t break the build.
You are mainly looking for two Stats (besides the obligatory max Life and Resistances) on the Chest:
#% increased Effect of Offerings
You can apply an additional Curse

Both Stats are Hunter-Mods, therefore you will need a hunter influenced Chest.
Your typical progress would likely be:
Generic max Life/Resistances Chest (5 or 6 Links) -> Hunter Chest with “increased Effect of Offerings” (5 or 6-Link) -> Hunter Chest with “increased Effect of Offerings” and “You can apply an additional Curse” (5 or 6-Link)

When you get a Chest with an additional Curse you will want to adjust your Ring or curse Gem Setup.
In general you do have two options to apply the additional curse:
1. Adding it to your Ball Lightning-Hextouch Setup
2. Ring with “Curse on Hit”

Rings:
We are using the Rings to get a bunch of Resistances and Stats (Mainly Dexterity).
Besides that we likely need some Mana Regeneration on it.
Later on we can get Redeemer Influenced Rings that can roll “#% increased Minion Damage”

Once we have a Chest with an additional Curse we can go for a Ring with “Curse Enemies with Flammability on Hit”.
Best option there would be a Ring with both Warlord and Redeemer Influence to both roll Flammability on hit and increased Minion Damage.


5.2 What to look for:

5.2.1 Damage:
All our damage comes from exploding Raging Spirits, dealing part of their max life as fire damage. To scale the explosions, we need Minion Life and Minion Damage. So wherever possible we want one (or even both) of these stats on our gear.
The only other stats that scales our Damage is gem Level. Only Gear we can get that on is on our Wand and our Helmet.
There are a few exceptions to that, but they only matter when you are min/maxing the build.
Using Essence of Fear to craft our Boots, Gloves, Belt and Chest we can get up to “30% increased maximum Minion Life” on these Slots. Keep in mind hitting decent stats besides the minion Life can be a pain.
Stats like “#% increased Spell Damage”, “#% increased fire Damage, “adds xx Damage to Spells” etc. do nothing for us.
Since we are using Elemental Equilibrium we need to avoid “added fire damage” at all costs.

5.2.2 Defences:
We want to reach Res cap, max Block and Elemental Ailment Immunity. Combined with Fortify (From shield Charge) and Bone Armour (self casted – left click), we can get quite tanky.
For Ailment Immunity we will need to craft on some of the items, for block we just need a shield with spell block and a Rumi’s Concoction
Besides that, we need life and resistances.

5.2.3 Stats:
You will need some Dex, 68 total, for Skitter Bots, on your Items. I usually get some on a Ring or Gloves. Get the Dex you can and adjust the Gemlevels accordingly. Level your Gems that need Dex only as far as 68 Dex.

This is our main “6-Link” for SRS.

NOTE: Since 3.15 the “Minion Damage Support” reduces the Minion Life by 25% -> That is 25% LESS Damage for us
=> Don’t ever use “Minion Damage Support” on your SRS Setup!!

We need an Elder Helmet to be able to get the “Socketed Gems are Supported by…”.

Perfect Stats would be an iLvl 86+ Elder+Shaper Bone Helmet with

+3 to Socketed Minion Gems

If you have don't have “Socketed Gems are Supported by Level 20 Minion Life”, you can craft “Minions have #% increased maximum Life”

Since the Bone Helmet Base is quite expensive, I would not recommend going for it. (only when you can spare the currency) Since you can easily do all content without it.
Any Elder Helmet with two of the stats will do in the start, later on you will want to upgrade it thought.

Crafting:
Spamming Bound Fossils is probably the most cost efficient for the Budged and Late game variants.

When you want to craft the End Game Helmet you will likely do something like that:

1. Get a iLvl 86+ Bone Helmet with either Elder or Shaper Influence (whatever is cheaper)
2. Get any other Helmet with the other Influence
3. Awekener Orb them (destroying the cheap Helmet. Might wanna check a tutorial for that 😉)
4. Fossil craft your Helmet using:

Bound + Corroded + Shuddering + Sanctified

Until you hit a decent combination of “+Level of minion Gems”, “supported by Minion Life” and “supported by Minion Damage”
5. When you don’t have an open suffix use Harvest crafting to reroll suffixes, keeping all prefixes until you hit it
OR
6. If you have an open suffix Craft “prefixes cannot be changed”
7. Harvest reroll with “cold modifiers are more likely”

Repeat Step 5-7 until you hit Hypothermia.

To roll your Chest you should use Essence of Fear, using these will also give you “Minions have #% increased maximum Life”.
Since we do not scale our Zombie Damage you do not really need to have a 6-Link Armour, a 5-Link will do.
For the late game you want to have a Hunter Influenced Body Armour with “Increased Effect of Offerings”.
Since you can only get the minion Life by using a Essence of Fear, you will have to spam them until you hit the "#% increased effect of Offerings" stat.

End Game:
When Min/Maxing you will want to go for a Chest that has both "#% increased effect of Offerings" and “You can apply an additional Curse”

Theoretically you could craft a Chest with max Life, %-Life, Minion Life, Additional Curse, Offering Effect, but that would be next to impossible to hit.
A Reasonable alternative is to settle for max Life, Additional Curse and Offering Effect.
Crafting would likely be with Fossils using either

Bound + Corroded+ Pristine + Sanctified

OR

Bound + Corroded + Aetheric + Sanctified

If you are just going for Offering Effect and Additional Curse:

Corroded + Dense + Metallic + Pristine

OR

Aberrant + Dense + Metallic + Pristine


5.4.3 Wand

We need a Convoking Wand as base to be able to roll certain Minion Mods.

On the Wand you are looking for a combination of “+1 To Level of all Skill Gems” > “+1 To Level of all Minion Gems” > increased Minion Life >= increased Minion Damage.

Crafting a Budget Wand:
Just slap a Screaming (or higher) Essence of Fear on the Wand -> Done

Crafting a Late Game Wand:
Once again you can use Essence of Fear to force Minion Damage Or you can fossil craft the Wand With Bound Fossils and Hope for a decent combination of Minion Life/Damage (and +1 to Skill Gems).

Crafting Late Game Wand:
You quite easily (Chance is 1/12) Craft “+1 To Level of all Skill Gems” and “+1 To Level of all Minion Gems” using Fossils:

Corroded + Jagged + Metallic + Shuddering

If you don’t have an open Suffix to craft the “trigger socketed Spell when you use a Skill” you can Harvest “Reroll Suffixes, Keep all Prefixes”

If you want to min/max you could craft “Prefixes cannot be changed” and Reroll with “More Likely to roll Life Mods” to get “increase Minion Life”

We need a Base with Shaper Influence and we are mainly looking for two stats on it: “Recover #% of Life when you Block” and “#% Chance to Block Spell Damage”.
I would either recommend some form of Kite shield (for its all Res implicit) or a Base with a high Base Block rate.

Besides these two stats we are Looking for anything else useful for us like Life and Res.

Since both stats are suffixes we can’t Alteration Spam them.
I would recommend to use Fossil Crafting to have a higher chance on the “Life on Block” and maybe some max Life. Best choices for Fossil Crafting would be

Pristine

Second viable Option is Harvest Crafting, spamming “Reforge more Likely to hit Life Mods”

Sadly, there is no real good way to craft such a shield (at least non that I know of)


5.4.5 Amulet

The higher Minion Life and Minion Damage rolls, the better.
The Lower the chaos Resistance roll, the better.
But any Rolls will do to start with.

Any generic Life/Resistances Gloves with an open Suffix will do.
By using an Essence of Fear to craft your Gloves you have some "Minions have #% increased Maximum Life" on your Gloves, which further boosts our damage.
Just use some Essence of Fear until you hit a nice combination of stats besides the Minion Life.

End Game
There are some useful synthesis implicit Mods for Gloves. You can get synthesis gloves with either “Minions have #% increased maximum Life” or “#% Chance To avoid Elemental Ailments”.
If you are aiming for 100% Elemental Ailment Immunity, you will need the “#% Chance To avoid Elemental Ailments” implicit.


5.4.7 Boots

NOTE: I don’t have any Boots that I would call End Game (Min/Max) worthy.

We need Shaper influenced to Boots to be able to roll “#% Chance to avoid Elemental Ailments”.
Besides that, we take any combination of Life/Resistances/Movement Speed.
We want the “#% increased Mana Regeneration Rate if you’ve cast a Spell Recently” Enchantment on them. To reduce the stress on the Mana Regen stat on our Rings.
By using an Essence of Fear to craft your Boots you have some "Minions have #% increased Maximum Life" on your Boots, which further boosts our damage.

Keep in mind that hitting a viable combination of stats can be a real pain here.

A more cost-efficient approach would be trying to get Max Life, Movement Speed and Avoid Elemental Ailments using Fossils. Best options would be

Metallic + Pristine + Sanctified + Shuddering (Chance 1/9)
Metallic + Jagged + Sanctified + Shuddering (Chance 1/9)
Metallic + Sanctified + Shuddering (Chance 1/10)

5.4.8 Belt

Note: Replica Siege Breaker is a great Belt and can easily be used till the end, but since the burning ground does not stack, it doesn’t really help us in Boss fights.

To Craft your Minion Damage Ring you want a Redeemer Influence Base (eg. Vermillion).
Since “Minion Damage” has the “Minion” Tag we could Fossil Craft to craft the Ring, but since we also want stats like Life, Resistances and potentially some Dex on it, its quite hard to hit a nice combination.
Therefor the best way to craft the ring is probably to just Chaos Spam it.

To Craft your “Flammability on Hit”-Ring (End Game!), you need a Warlord Influenced Base OR you could find one in Delve (“Node contains Fire Items”)
Best Chance to hit Flammability on Hit on a Warlord Ring would be either spamming Aetheric Fossils or Harvest Craft “Reroll with higher Chance for Caster Mods”

Since This is a End Game Craft you could also get a Base with Redeemer AND Warlord Influence, to Roll both Mods on one Ring, and Fossil Craft it with

Aetheric + Bound + Corroded + Sanctified (Chance 1/19)
Aetheric + Bound + Corroded + Shuddering (Chance 1/24)
Aetheric + Bound + Dense + Pristine (Chance 1/24, can’t roll max life)


To meet our Dex requirements you will most likely need some Dex on your Rings (or any other item).
Depending on your Boot Enchantment some “#% increased Mana Regeneration Rate” will help with the mana sustain.
For min/maxing you will want either Redeemer Influenced Rings or Rings from Delve each with “Minions Deal #% increased Damage”
You should have enough mana regeneration rate to safely beast craft “Aspect of the Spider” on one of your Rings (or Boots/Belt/Gloves)


5.4.10 Jewels

Both the Fortress Covenant and the Glorious Vantity are NOT mandatory.

The Main purpose for the Fortress Covenant is the “Increased Minion Damage” stat.
Since our SRS explode when reaching 50% of their life, we don’t really need them to take more damage. Therefor we can socket the jewel somewhere, where it does not affect a notable. (Easiest would be in a Socket within a Cluster Jewel)

The Glorious Vanity is an End Game Item that gives us quite some tankyness. I would recommend to go for a “In the Name of Doriyani” roll. If you manage to stack a lot of chaos Res you could also go for “In the Name of Xibaqua”.

In general, we want Jewels with “+# to Maximum Life”, “Minions have #% increased maximum Life”, and ”#% increased Damage if you've used a Minion Spell recently”.

Best approach to craft the jewels are Ghastly Eye Jewel Bases. The iLvl is not that important, since only the max Life stat has a level requirement (T1 is 82+). To get Max Life and Minion life, you want either to spam Harvest Reroll with higher chance to hit Life mods or Fossil Crafting with

Pristine

Hitting the Minion Damage stat is pure luck :-/


5.4.11 Cluster Jewels

The Cluster Jewels Have the potential to provide a lot of Damage for us.

Our Medium Cluster should have 4 or 5 passives and our Large Cluster should have 8.

Medium Clusters
Your main Damage Cluster Jewels are Medium Clusters that give “Minions have 12% Increased Maximum Life” and these Notables:

Hulking Corpses
Minions have 25% increased maximum Life
Raised Zombies have 5% chance to Taunt Enemies on Hit

Feasting Fiends
Minions have 10% increased maximum Life
Minions deal 10% increased Damage
Minions Leech 0.4% of Damage as Life

If possible, we want to use two of those Medium Clusters.

Crafting
To Craft the Medium Cluster you can either Chaos spam or use Harvest Reroll with higher Chance to hit Life Mods or use Pristine Fossils

Large Cluster
For Large Cluster we have two options.

Option one
Either we opt for pure damage increase with a “Minions Deal 10% Increased Damage” Jewel with these Notables:

Feasting Fiends
Minions have 10% increased maximum Life
Minions deal 10% increased Damage
Minions Leech 0.4% of Damage as Life

Call to the Slaughter
Minions deal 15% increased Damage
Minions created Recently have 30% increased Movement Speed
Minions created Recently have 10% increased Attack and Cast Speed

Sadly, there is no Notable combination that would make both these Notable to appear “in the front” of the Cluster Jewel. One of them will always be in the back and therefor cost extra passive points.

Crafting:
To Craft this Large Cluster you could either Chaos Spam or Fossil Craft with

Pristine + Shuddering

Option two
As an End Game Large Cluster I would recommend one with “10% increased Spell Damage”.
The only Notable we care about on such a Jewel is

Seal Mender
Skills Supported by Unleash have a 30% increased Seal Gain Frequency

If you get a Cluster with two Notables make sure it DOES HAVE either “Ancestral Inspiration” or “Arcane Adept” besides the Seal Mender on it.

If you get a Cluster with three Notables make sure it DOES NOT HAVE “Ancestral Inspiration” or “Arcane Adept” on it.

Other Useful Notables on the Large Cluster would be:

Conjured Wall
25% increased Spell Damage
+6% Chance to Block Spell Damage if you've Cast a Spell Recently

Mage Hunter
20% increased Spell Damage
4% Chance to Block Spell Damage
20% chance to gain a Power Charge when you Block

Crafting:
Since Seal Mender is the only stat we really want and it does not have any Tags we can’t target craft it with Fossils or Harvest.
Therefor best bet would either be Chaos or Alteration Spamming.



5.4.12 Flasks

Besides the Rumi’s Concoction we are free to use any Flasks.
Since we are Elemental Ailment immune, we only need Flasks to get rid of bleeding, poison and curses.

Therefor we use the Artless Assassins That can be found in the Smuggler’s Den Heist Contracts

If you get your hands on a 6-Link Chest you can add a Feeding Frenzy Support.

Desecrate / Tempest Shield / Bone Offering
Note: Since we are using “Trigger socket gem when you use a skill” on a weapon, the order the gems are socketed is important! Desecrate must come before Bone offering. Meaning when you look at the sockets in the Wand you should socket “Desecrate” in the topmost socket, then Tempest Shield and lastly the “Bone Offering”.
If you socket Bone Offering before Desecrate, you will not have the corpses to be consumed by Bone Offering
We do not need to level Tempest Shield and Desecrate, Level 1 is fine for both.

Note²: The Quality of Divergent Bone Offering Grants a higher chance to block, try to get one of these.

8. Levelling

Not much to say here since you can basically start levelling with SRS. Levelling with SRS is a bit slower then you will see some Streamers race through the story.
As soon as you get Minion Instability and the Infernal Legion Support paired with some Minion Life/Damage from the tree nothing is a real challenge anymore and can safely and smoothly roll through the acts.

During leveling (and later on) Essences of Fear are your best friend, since they give us minion Damage (Weapon) or Minion Life (Armour/Belt).
Whenever you find one, use it.

- Levelling Trees and Gems are included in the PoB
- You can start levelling with SRS right away (after “Breaking some Eggs” Quest)
- Directly path to minion Instability on the Tree.
- By the time you can allocate Minion Instability you should be able to buy the infernal Legion Support
- Link SRS with Infernal Legion and Blastchain Mines and add minion Life when you get a 4-Link
- Drop Blastchain Mines for Unleash, when you get it and your mana can sustain it
- Add Combustion as your fifths Link
- This will carry you all the way to maps
- Add utility Gems and Raise Zombies, as your gem slots allow it.

This is an interesting build of yours, as much Minion Instabiliy users favor Skeletons over SRS. Nice use of the unique amulet !

Maybe you should consider using Wave of Conviction instead of Zombies especially with this helmet enchant of yours ? It slows your SRS but not much as you use unleash so it should be fine.

Anyway, I think you should pick Elemental Equilibrium and add Orb of Storm/Storm Brand somewhere, it would help you quite much for bossing speed.

(The "of adrenaline" suffix doesn't grant the Adrenaline buff, only some %move speed. You do have 16% physical reduction from Endurance charges though, so your flat phreduction is a bit higher than your estimate!)

Wave of convictions is an option yes, just liked the plystyle of "not needing to mind" ;-)
But I will give it a try.

EE with a Brand or Orb of Storms isnt a bad idea either. Would need to free up a socket, so either use a Unsetring or drop Fortify.

you are absolutly right regarding Adrenaline. Will fix it.

~Thinking of EE, since SRS deal fire Damage by default and our main dmg source is the explosion of the SRS which also deals fire Damage, I would have to hit every Pack with something else before I can cast the SRS.
For Bosses that should be fine, but mapping speed could suffer quite a bit from that.
Or am I missing something here?~

You'd need to use the lightning skill for all mob packs, so it's probably not worth it; as I'm not sure of what your edit means, I remind you that only you have EE, not your minion, so it's no problem they hit mobs with fire damage before exploding.

However, if you use Wave of Conviction, you deal fire damage, so you'd want to cas WoC and OoS/Brand right after it; it's more dps in theory than zombies, but maybe not in real use, especially as it means more casting time, so less SRS.

Anyway, I was thinking that maybe Combustion would be better than Elemental Army on your zombies (you'd still need added fire damage though) as it lowers the resistance by 19% instead of 10, and with all zombies having each 49% chance to ignite, you're sure to have 100% uptime on bosses.

Maybe using your zombies 5L in chest with both elemental army and Combustion, and OoS/Brand in the sixth slot ? That'd be a big damage boost, but you'd have to drop Fortify or guard skill (or use guard skill manually)

Other option would be Wave of Conviction with Combustion, Hextouch and Flamability, so you could put Storm Brand in your wand and proc EE quite easily. But then you need two slots for Zombies + Feeding Frenzy, so again, either cast you guard skill manually or drop shield charge. Maybe having all five Zombies+Feeding Frenzy+Shield Charge+Faster attacks+Fortify all linked in armour and Molten Shell unlinked in the sixth socket could do ? That means two new skills to use manually (Wave of Conviction and Molten Shell), but according to PoB it more than doubles your boss damage.
Not saying it's better, but it's worth considering !

I could add a Profane Proxy Ring in my left slot with Flamamability.
Storm Brand in the Wand to trigger EE.

Have yet to kill the big bosses, but Bosskilling speed is definitly faster.

Yes, its absolutly viable as starter in the mayhem League.
But the Build does not realy benefit of the greater mob density, so when you wanna push the ladder I would recommened considering a "zoom-zoom" Build.

Yes the Build works without the amulet.

While using the "Burning Legion"-Support Our SRS will take damage and explode.
Not using the Amulet just means that the SRS take less damage, therefor take longer to explode, and we loose some of our damage because of the Minion Life and Damage on the Amulet.
The PoB seems to be out of date compared to the information presented in the first post.
