Does RF Reserve Life? Can You Be on Full Life While Sustaining Righteous Fire?

Hey GGG,

So, I've played RF for ages but never bothered looking into it (until someone playing Heist with my RF guide asked the question). Now, when you sustain RF, you'll notice that you're not at Full Life; you'll be missing a minor amount of life. As far as I can remember, this has been a thing with every RF build I've ever run throughout the years. It was never important to look into why I was missing some life, but since it was such a minor amount, I never bothered to inquire.

Now that Alternate Qualities are a thing, someone following my RF guide asked about Divergent Vitality. This quality gives "You and nearby Allies deal (0–20)% increased Damage while on Full Life".

So:
- Is it a visual glitch and we can be Full Life while running RF?
- Does the game actually count us as not being on Full Life?
- If we aren't on Full Life, why does RF reserve life?

As far as I know its a combination of degen and regen rates not quite ticking at the same time or something to that effect, and no I'd assume this means you are not on full life, should be pretty easy to test tho..

It is actually possible to be affected by a DoT and still be on full life, provided you regen & leech life faster than the degen..

There is also another way for your RF to affect you and still be on full life: RF deals Fire Damage, which will consume first your ES then your Life.

If your ES regen is higher than the RF degen (remember it burns you for a portion of your maxES and a portion of your maxLife...

... then you are always full life while under RF.
True, you cannot use RF while you are under CI, but you can indeed use it while being on a low-life build or something like that
