Anyone noticed IIR / IIQ mechanics failing after some patch?
I noticed that something is brokeng with MF. This started after some patch (where they "fixed" multiclienting issue).
I think, you need to stay in the melee range of the boss when it die, even if you are ranged to get your IIR / IIQ bonuses to apply. I mindlessly farm normal vaal for alterations. Usually 1 run take 2-3 mins and net 3-5 alts, while watching movies, so I have plenty of data/experience every day. For example, there are drops of 25+ rares and there are drops of 2-3 rares now. One time even no rare drop at all. For reference, before patch there always were 7-10+ rares from vaal@normal, and never lower, not speaking about NOT GETTING even one rare. I'm also summoner and from my expirience looks like when minions kill something offscreen your IIR / IIQ do not count. I will track 40 kills of vaal today: 20 offscreen and 20 in melee range and update this post in the evening. Still, I do believe that something is broken with proximity to boss for MF to kick in calculations. PS: My IIR now is 280+ and IIQ 130+. Well they did update the party system for exp/item drops within 2 screens (maybe more or less). I believe that your monsters don't get all the bonus's of rarity and quality that you have if you are off screen. Again, this could be totally wrong, but this could be a side effect of the new loot system.

You do indeed have to be close to monsters to get loot. Killing from too far away (via spells, bow, totems, minions, etc.) will mean no drops. There are already a few threads bringing this to the devs' attention.

" Well, this is kinda bad than. I will not do maps until this is fixed. Some map bosses are only doable for me if I kill them with minions. " I'm calling BS on your statement of always getting 7-10 rares per vaal kill on normal. Yes you could get 7-10 rares and times you could get even more. But always... Oh to add something to this thread. my farmer is a groundslam/leap slammer so I've never killed stuff off screen, etc. The only time I maybe have seen some changes was when they fixed a bug where people were getting more loot than they were supposed to be getting. Maybe this applied to me or not? I don't really know. But I swear, before they fixed this, there were times I'd be on a massive roll getting tons and tons of drop - as if I were in a party and I'd ride that wave for as long as I could. Okay, I got I little bored writting all down, so only did 30 runs.

However, I noticed different strange thing. Usually, I got 31-32 items drop from vaal. But sometimes it as low as 8(!) items. I believe this is not RNG and some bug are still in the code. Yeah, the low count is really weird, I can fix that by re-summon my minion. (Can't do it with the spetre though...)
