No. You actually get less xp per monster when you play with others. Xp goes up only 50% per party member I think. On the flip side, you're killing monsters much more quickly when you're in a party.

What if your character catches fire right before the game freezes. We'll just be forced to stand by and watch our character slowly burn to death?
