Tutorial
I am about 99% sure that I am probably putting this in the wrong place on the forum, but I post very infrequently and thus am not certain as to the correct location. Anyway, since the Diablo III Beta it has come to my attention that the one area I believe Blizzard is currently ahead of the curve is the introductory "tutorial" that players are sent through at the beginning of the game. I would like to see that for Path of Exile. I have given out a couple Beta Keys for PoE and the one complaint that I have received from each of my friends is that "it is overwhelming. I felt confused when faced with all of the skill tree options and no explanation as to how to use it."
The Skill Tree, in my opinion, is the GREATEST achievement in the history of Dungeon Crawlers AND RPGs. That being said, for those who are not as familiar with the concepts the skill tree and the beginning of the game may seem too daunting. And this, I believe, is keeping them from jumping in and enjoying the game as much as they could and should. I truly believe that PoE is a better game than Diablo III, in most every way, except for the polish of the little things; voice acting, story flow, and explanatory tutorial. I hope that my input helps, or, at the very least, that it does not offend; because when all is said and done, it is simply that, "my opinion". - Never give up the eternal struggle to be the Light that shines to protect those unable to protect themselves...

I completly agree. While I love a game that is hard and requires some effort and trial and error in order for the player to win, I find the lack of a tutorial quite frustrating.
I don't understand why I have to constantly alt/tab and find information outside of the game, when I should be able to know about it from ...well..just playng the game. There should be a tutorial and it should cover basic stuff like -The curency -The gem mechanic -The The fact that you can see wich areea a quest is in by pressing U -How to party with other players you know...basic stuff... Also the skill tree. While it looks nice and all, i don't understand why it has to be ..so big and intimidating? Why not instead of making 5 dexterity points linked to one another like this (d)-(d)-(d)-(d)-(d) why not just make a single dexterity point (d) on wich you can click on 5 times?! |
