Completely unsurprised. I can't recall if I considered D3's graphics in my original d3/poe write-up, but they were never a big problem for me. As with SwedishTavern, I often found myself marvelling at the intricacies of D3's visuals.
...If a change in aesthetics were the only thing 'wrong' with D3 in my eyes, I'd be playing it right now, and certainly I'd have a little more money in my bank account. ;) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Nope, not buying it at all. I knew I wasn't the moment they changed the rune skill system. Naturally I won't discuss the details of that here (done so elsewhere) but that was the turning point.
For me, the story of Diablo ended at LoD. Whatever follows is almost like fan-fic, like a 'what if'. Now, you can say that because Blizzard are doing it it's canonical, but plenty of people choose to stop reading a book series or a set of movies if they feel the latter ones go in a direction they don't like. ...I'll still read a synopsis, watch some videos. But I won't be giving a single cent to Blizzard, and haven't since Warcraft 3. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

It has potential to be better than Diablo II's Hell but won't come close to Diablo I's Hell.

It's pretty interesting that Blizzard is still doing one of the best games in the world..with awesome polish where very detail mattered but some folks act like Blizzard is worst monster on the world, power and money hungry and they don't care about their customers.

I find Charan's commentary interesting... I too might have to stop at D2 in terms of lore, as it's very possible that the adulterations that the D3 team may have taken upon themselves to infuse into the storyline, might literally ruin the entire thing.
The FMV shorts that the Diablo team originally created to introduce people to the story were genius... I've yet to see such a thing from the D3 team, but I do worry that they will ruin the story, unless they are following a storyline that was pre-written for them a decade ago.
