Helm Enchants and Threshold Jewel combined system

I just thought of this system and felt like putting this up here. This is kind of wild and does require some work on GGG but hear me out.

Firstly, helmet enchants have been a hot topic since release. Since its the odds of you getting something for your character or getting the exact one you need gets worse and worse every league. I use to attempt to make characters to farm this but to no avail so I gave up on lab.

That being said farming glove and boot enchants are within the realm of possibility. I can take any glove or boot I find and make a personal goal to enter the lab and farm it out. I want more things like this in the game.

Secondly, threshold jewels. Nobody really talks about these because honestly most of them are pretty garbage. They are so common in trade league that even corrupted ones only go for a chaos or 2. These don't really feel like your reaching your threshold for your skill. You just slot them in your skill has a good one and forget about them if your skill has a bad one. Even then.. most skills don't have a threshold jewel, and with the latest patch.. they seem to moving away from these.

Small tidbit but for SSF, these are very frustrating to get yet add important value to some skills. I know SSF... blah blah, but these hold no trade value for anyone so it's not affecting the economy.

So why not *drum roll* combine these ideas into a new system called "Threshold Jewels".

First this requires a couple things. Removal of helmet enchants and all current threshold jewels as they exist. Secondly design a new enchant for helmets, another set of like 20-30 similiar to gloves and boots that add farmable value to players who engage with labs.

Now add an NPC who sells Threshold jewels for a price. You can only socket 1 of these on your tree. Example here would be Earthquake jewel. You put it into one of your jewel slots. Here is where the fun begins. These jewels have levels that grant your higher bonuses and more stats per level maybe upto level 5 or something. It gains experience similar to gems, albeit maybe a tad longer being there are only 5 levels.

So Earthquake threshold jewel would end up being something like this
Base Level 1 = Damage 10%
Level 2 = Damage 15% AoE 5%
Level 3 = Damage 20% AoE 10% Reduced Duration 10%
Level 4 = Damage 30% AoE 15% Reduced Duration 20%
Max Level 5 = Damage 40% AoE 20% Reduced Duration 30%
And maybe at max level, skills can unlock something unique to their skill similar to what the current threshold jewels have.

The idea behind this is the feeling of actually unlocking your threshold with a skill. Ideally you would have to use the skill to unlock its threshold but that might be awkward to make happen so might be better just to stick to experience gained.

I completely realize that this is a ton of work for GGG and will probably never happen but the idea came to me and I felt compelled to put it down. I like that it solves the enchant slot machine and gets rid of no value threshold jewels. Players can now potentially sell high level jewels for more then just a couple of chaos. Even more if they are corrupted with extra modifiers.

SSF players can rejoice in that they have the ability to obtain some of these powerful stats if they put it in the time. It creates goals for something that you can obtain rather then just scrolling thru a website for it.

Side note, before anyone asks. They would probably have to look at each skills enchants and alter/change some of them. Also I did say that you could only have 1 of them but now that I think of it, with PoE 2 on the horizon and the ability to have multiple skills 5-6 linked, maybe having multiple threshold jewels could also be a thing. Might be to much power creep in the end but meh.. every league is power creep.
