Cartographer's Seal

Pre-3.9, a map could only drop if it was previously completed or connected to the map you're running. If you wanted to farm a single map exclusively, you'd shape that map (to disconnect it from adjacent maps) and uncomplete all maps of the same tier as the shaped map, so that the only map of that tier that was eligible to drop was the one you were running. I'm not sure if that mechanic still exists, but the wiki seems to imply it does.

The connection mechanic still exists, iirc GGG said something about increasing the odds of adjacent maps dropping.

Which has the unintended side affect of making it harder to run a variety of maps (as needed by Elderslayer farming, maybe) since you tend to only run 2-3 of the same tier maps in a zone rather than all of them.

It's not a big deal if the Cartographer's are gone, i'll just remember to do the Atlas properly next standard reset/league.

There is just as much reason as there was before 3.9 (actually much more so).

If i'd known you couldnt unlearn them, i wouldnt have auto-completed the entire Atlas. Now i have to wait 3 months to do it properly.

I'm hoping it was removed due to compatibility issues rather than actual balance issues (?) since that would mean it will be re-implemented eventually.

What? Do what properly? There is literally NO reason to unlearn a map now.
None.
Explain how there is "much more reason to do so" now.

because you dont want the map to drop is a reason to unlearn it, and theres more reason to do it now because you dont have shaper/elder orbs which means you dont have proper control of what maps you want to play.

i would have thought that was obvious tbh.

how can you do it properly? if you run any of your legacy t16 maps ull fuck it up, and if you convert them they will convert to random new t16 maps and when you run those youll fuck it up.

GGG never wanted for players to run one map for the bilionth time. They want you to run all maps. So no, it wont come back.

you can still just run one map, as long as that 1 map is t16 waterways. so why is that allowed?

you spoke to people at ggg and this is what they told you is it? that they didnt want it happening? thats a direct quote?

Because they overlooked it.

no, they didnt, they even mentioned it when they previewed the system at exilecon. i would have thought ud have known that since you speak for ggg directly and know exactly what theyre thinking.

Oh, I didnt know they say on the exilecon "Here is the new atlas, btw you will no longer be able to target farm one map unless its T16 Waterways"
they said you would still kind of be able to farm 1 map, that there were zones where only 1 map was a t16 so if you wanted to boil it down to one t16 it would still be possible.

they didnt sound like the wanted to stop u farming 1 map, it sounded more like preserving it just wasnt a priority and if you could or couldnt do it was just gonna be whatever, this is the system were making and if it can still be done then u can still do it and if u cant then its just collateral damage and caring about the entire thing isnt really where are heads are at, thats what it sounded like to me.

it doesnt really matter what maps ggg wants us to farm, our opinions should be voiced and heard. they are making a game for an audience, not for themselves, most of them barely play the game so it would be foolish of them to design the systems only for what they think should be played because if they were the right people to make that call they would actually play the game more than anyone else. they dont. a vegetarian shouldnt be choosing the best way to flavour a meat dish, people who actually eat meat, and preferably the exact people who will actually have to eat the dish in question when its made are the ones whos opinion matters the most.

they said at exilecon they wanted feedback, they appreciate feedback, they want ideas and opinions from players. you dont speak for them and you dont speak for all of us either.
