Slave Girls Toggable

I also don't like having women in chains on my interface.

If they were just a couple of naked girls, I wouldn't care - nudity isn't offensive. If I encountered slaves in the game world I wouldn't care, because Wraeclast is a dark and terrible place, and in that context I'd probably be slaughtering the slavers anyhow. Somehow it's different when the slaves are attached to my character.

I think the girls are well drawn, and the interface wouldn't look as nice without them, but I would lose the chains. I'm fine with just ignoring them, but it didn't make a good first impression, and I won't be the only woman that has a strong negative reaction to them. While I'm sure some folks think bondage is sexy, I find it revolting.

And no, I don't think having a fetish makes you an evil person, so please don't assume that I agree with the other crap that's been posted in this thread just because I don't like the chains.

Okay well I'm in favor of alternate and optional ball-girl graphics to silence the nitpickers and please others.
Would be interesting to have them change depending on your character's highest attribute, str/dex/int.

Can't agree with this, they are already pretty cliche after all those years, slave girls are much more creative.

Coming back to the slave girls: it doesn't really matter whether you're a female or male if you're into bondage or not... it's a personal preference. Looking at all the variables/details that everyone here wants or wants not, it seems that alone for a cosmetic design the work would be very substantial and would take a lot of time and resources that could be used much better in other areas of the game (for example 6th class - just my opinion :) ).

I just really don't see why some of you are so insistent that they're slave girls or somehow offensive. Maybe they're not slaves but keepers of life and mana, and are there willingly or whatever?

What if they're ... not actually girls but statues used in an artistic way to reflect upon how dependent we are upon life and mana to survive? Kind of like the way a slave might be dependent upon a master, only these are statues. At worst they should be taken metaphorically, and at best, beautiful and artistic.

If this was a released game, with no developers asking for opinions, I doubt this would be much of an issue at all. But maybe since we know that GGG might pay attention, we get the idea to complain about little things that really don't need complaining about?
