Resurrection of PvP content

Hi, GGG

In December, you killed PvP by removing Leo from the main game, I still miss him, I run to path of exile most of all because of PvP, but now Sarn Arena is almost always empty, and 1x1 pvp is looking for a very long time (I’ve already I’m silent about PvP 3x3 and PvP capture the flag), and on April 1 of that year, you showed the players Battle Royale mode, as a player who went into the Sarn arena every day I liked this mode very much and I suggest adding it to the main part of the game return the popularity of PvP content, I don’t know whether it is possible to add it as just a button after which the character will t teleport to separate arenas, and after death teleport to the city (this is how death works on the uber shaper) or as before through creating a character after each death, in any case this mode is very cool =)

I too would love PVP to come back however they would have to address the power creep or develop an entirely new skill tree and set of skills and equipment just for pvp..

Perhaps the second option would be more reasonable but not nearly as much fun and definitely a cop out.

Removing leo was a really rude thing of them to do as well, what did all the people who earned leo's hideout LEGIT get for that? nothing lol

How i felt when i logged in and my masters were gone and then finally realized leo was too.

Honestly, removing Leo was the right decision. You may feel otherwise because you loved PvP, but a lot of players that didn't like it felt forced to go there and get wrecked because of his specific rewards.
Removing him allowed players that didn't like PvP to ignore it.
I do support PvP rewards, but they have to be made in a way that doesn't push the wrong people towards PvP.
I hate PvP in POE so never did any of Leo’s B.S. Very glad they removed that wall. Having said that, I do wish that they’d come up with PvP that was engaging, meaningful, and balanced. But... since they can’t balance PvE very well, nor provide a consistently engaging and meaningful experience each league let alone in smaller ways, I’m not gonna hold my breath.
POE Serenity Prayer: GGG, grant me the serenity to accept the RNG I cannot change,
the courage to challenge any unbalanced content, and the wisdom to avoid the forums.

Other than his crafts what exactly pushed anyone to him? The smallest hideout in the entire game? the PVP which you said they didn't like?

Might as well use the same logic to give everyone a full set of demigod gear because they don't wanna get on the same level as people like Ms Death.. You had to EARN his hideout, removing him from the game and giving it to all the noobs who couldn't get gud in pvp was a huge insult to those who did earn it.

You're for pvp rewards? You obviously support him being removed and in doing that they gave away those pvp rewards to people who never did pvp, what rewards are you for exactly? My reward for all the time spent on Leo was getting kicked in the teeth upon loading the Betrayal Patch, very aptly named.

I was complete garbage when i earned mine so i could really care less what excuses anyone try's to use to justify him being removed and giving out the hideout, In fact it made me learn quite a bit on how to make my character stronger... I went from struggling to just escape the sarn arena to making those people who ground me into dust complain about my build and actually taking their asses out.

When i would encounter someone i could not kill or a build that would take me out despite the hard work i put in to try to get strong enough to compete i didn't rage like a little kid who cant have a stuffed pony at walmart, i was fascinated and wanted to LEARN MORE.

DON'T INVITE HIM TO YOUR HIDEOUT LOL

PVP has no place in POE

It would be a nightmare to balance all the skills and items/passives/etc for PVP

For example if you're a low life player who has reserved more than 79% of your life a slayer can 1 tap you because of their ascendancy passive 20% culling.

Theres alot of ridiculous interactions in this game etc

There are so many things POE needs fixed and worked on

I wouldn't want GGG wasting a single second of development time to try to bring back a dead system that a very small minority of players actually liked or interacted with.

Slayer should have never had culling strike period, It made any build that used the support gem or items basically pointless.

Also by that minority logic you can kiss this game goodbye because slowly over time it will have its limbs chopped off until all you have left is a 7billion dps tornado shot build, When it finally reached something that's IMPORTANT to you and that thing is essentially gone forever i hope you can revisit that line of thought and be like.. ohhh... wait.... yeah...... WHOOOPS!

PVP is already in the game.

That is only true if the player have lazyness to adapt. When you race for kitava kill competitively you do not build a character with reduced move speed right? well when you pvp you also do not build a character with 20% or less reserved life.

Adaptation is key to survival, thanks Darwin!

And yet, the Sarn Arena was often full of players trying to get the daily, especially with the 3 minutes survival daily, during which some PvP-focused players bullied players that were clearly here for the daily by turning around in the arena and nuking anyone they could find.
This sometimes came to the point where there were insults being thrown around. Clearly, those players were there because they loved PvP, right?

In all honesty, the game is better for not having Leo. I understand that you feel annoyed that the hurdle (that I did get through too, I did get Leo to level 8) that you had to go over with great efforts was removed, but I also understand that giving rewards for forcing yourself to "play" something you hate is unconstructive at best.

I am for PvP rewards, but I also understand that the choice of what rewards to give out and how is important. Clearly, exclusives isn't the right way to go. Maybe give out a random unique to the top X PvP players each day or week? Or currency? Small automatic PvP tournaments with a Strongbox as reward for scoring well in them? I don't know. Whatever the choice is, it has to be monitored in order to make sure that it isn't a net negative for the game (and if it is, cull it quickly, rather than let it live as long as Leo did).
