after every update the game files are corrupt/broken

Hello everybody,

not sure if someone else had that problem as well, but since legion after nearly every update some files are corrupted/damaged and i couldn't start the game ... and it is not the same broken file everytime ... it changes ... I always have to repair the game installation ... so overall i have to patch 2 times each patch ... thats kinda annoying ... at least as i have the game on steam and to download ONE damaged file, the game has to download 21,4 GB ... thats nearly the whole game.

Any ideas what to do?

I've been trying to download the new patch for the past 20 hours and still have not had success, so to answer your question, no

I wish GGG would release some kind of official announcement on this problem since it seems a lot of people are affected by it. Any explanation will do, just would be nice to know they are addressing it.

Im still having HUGE issues with the content pk thing. and not a single word theres 5+ posts on these forums and no word.
I have restarted my download about a half a dozen times today and it has made some progress, but now over the past few times it is completely suck at 570 mb remaining. It won't progress past that no matter how long I let it run. So, 570 seems to be the stopping point. Guess I'm not playing POE for a while.

follow this guide from GGG and try using the stand-alone client after -->

If you created your Path of Exile account via Steam, it will not have an associated email address on our end.

If you would like to add an email address to your Steam Path of Exile account so you may use the stand-alone client, you should be able to do so by logging into our website using the green 'Sign in through STEAM' button on our login page, then navigating to the 'change email' page here: https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/change-email and proceeding to change the email on your account to the email you would like to sign in with on the stand-alone client for Path of Exile.
Probably your disk space is full.
On every update it will preallocate the full file "content.ggpk" which is 28gb.

So make sure that you have 40 gb free space on your disk.

In addition you can copy the "content.ggpk" file from a good installation of POE, to a backup folder.
If then the game file is corrupt, you can copy this file to your POE folder and start the update.
After that it should update properly.

I am running on a steam client and had the problem as well.

I contacted ggg and they linked the game to an email adress.

I can use now steam or the stand alone.
Thanx for all the answers, but all are related to different problems, patching always ends completely, but first patching one file is corrupted afterwards ... not always the same file.

If i start repair, it runs through 100% and than the game is playable.

@HanSoloDK: Someone gave me that hint prior before, haven't done yet, but will give it a try :)

Thx ;)
