[newbie question] Does summon raging spirit by spell totem benefit from my minion damage stat?

I basically am going full on necromancer zombie, spectre, mage skellies and raging spirit.

I basically run around map alternately casting mage skellies and totems. I notice that my raging spirit damage is way small like it does not get any benefit from minion damage stat.

Yes, the minion damage stats do affect totem srs, but, the spell totem gem makes the srs do less damage, have less cast speed and have one less support gems than self cast. This adds up to a large damage decrease.

On the plus side, you have greater casting range, can kite and move while getting to 20 spirits, and can use some nice items like elder rare boots with spell totem mods or soul mantle.
