Question about +1 Max Endurance Charges
Does +1 to max endurance charges mean:
a) You get +1 charge in addition to whatever Enduring Cry allocates; or b) Instead of, for example, getting 20 for every 100, you get 21 for every 100? Or is there some other interpretation altogether? Thanks. Man does not stop playing because he grows old. No, it means you can have more endurance charges. So instead of 3 charges, you'd have 4. Or 5, or however many.

I understand it means more, but in what scenario does it provide more, a), b), or some other?

It increases your maximum amount. Hence, 'max'. Instead of 3, you can have 4 (or more if you have multiple +1 Max Charges bonuses). That's what it does. It doesn't change how Enduring Cry works somehow.

So if Enduring Cry currently provides 30 per 100 enemies, the only advantage the +1 will provide to EC is if I am surrounded by more than 10 guys. There are of course other things that will give me charges, but it still seems somewhat remote as a reward for killing Oak on merciless, compared to a passive skill point.

+1 max endurance charge has nothing to do with the skill itself, but with your character. Open your character tab and check the charges tab, if you have no +1 max endurance charge on your gear or from quest rewards[bandit quest reward] or from your passive tree, you will see 0/3, meaning you can have up to 3 charges on you at a time. +1 max endurance charge will increase that limit, so 0/4. you can reach up to 9 stacks total in the game considering you have the unique rings, bandit quest and all 3 nodes in the passive tree.

Sorry, I've been less than clear and cryptic in my communications. I did finally come to understand that the change affects my character in the manner you describe (0/3 becomes 0/4, for example), and my example using Enduring Cry was simply meant to assess the most practical (for my character) example I would see if I were to take the option since I don't typically have many other ways of generating the charges. My final analysis regarding EC is correct, no?
Thanks for the clarifications, guys. Man does not stop playing because he grows old. He grows old because he stops playing. - Oliver Wendell Holmes Last edited by Winterfury#4666 on Mar 14, 2013, 4:58:26 PM

" Not really. You don't have to generate all the charges in one go for the increase in maximum charges to be useful. Every time you gain a new charge , the timer until the charge stack expires is reset back to 10 second again. So even if you only get 1 charge per use of EC , you can still maintain the maximum stack of charges , provided you cast it at least once every 10 seconds. |
