Actually having problems today too. Game is just dropping me to the desktop without even freezing up or anything. Just "poof". Happens during play or during the loading screens. Doesn't seem game related.

" Huh... couldn't have happened to a nicer "upgrade your potato pc" forum poster when someone is talking about PoE lag. Now you know performance problems aren't always the fault of the client pc. Softlayer/Hardlayer (IBM Cloud) has always suffered backbone performance problems with packet flow problems in/out of their server data centers from time to time. Example, I used to always play on the Dallas realm from my home in SW Florida. Then a couple of years ago a Hardlayer Internet node in Dallas started dropping packets. It continued to drop too many packets so I switched to the WDC realm. Tried a couple times last winter to use Dallas realm and times of lag was much higher than WDC. Reran WinMTR tests to both realms and the same Dallas node was dropping upwards of 15% of my PoE packets. So the Internet backbone problems haven't been fixed in Dallas (at least for my route coming from the Miami NAP) and so I continue to use the WDC realm. This realm routes me from Miami to Atlanta and gets into the Hardlayer network backbone there. Most of the time it's very low on packet loss but sometimes it gets overloaded on the weekend and drops much more, which in turn causes more PoE lags, stuttering, and DCs. None of these QoP problems are caused by a "potato" gaming rig. It's just the known fact that the GGG home rolled game engine netcode can't tolerate packet loss. Also a known fact that Softlayer/Hardlayer isn't the best game hosting company from a physical hardware communication standpoint. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. You've got me confused with someone else. I don't think I've ever told someone they needed to upgrade their "potato". I do tell people who make blanket claims that GGG's servers are broken that it's usually them and their ISP that need looking at.

I heard that in Australia fast internet connection is a rarity. If you connection gets a little bit laggy, than PoE can completely freak out and kick you out of servers.
