Standard Atlas reset : is it supposed to happen ?

Problem comes in wanting to make Atlas progress, or do Atlas quests. Running legacy maps doesn't seem to work for this, so in a way they're then useless if that's what you want to do (it's what I want to do). This would also force you to kinda have at least 2 map tabs if you want to keep legacy maps of the previous league to run these to farm new maps in. I can only see this getting more and more complicated as leagues go on. Alternatively you vendor the old maps to turn them into the new series, but that also probably puts you back so far, you're back to farming early white maps rebuilding your map pool.

Being a casual player myself that have time here and there, I'm worried about this. So far I've spent all my time trying to get back to where I was, but while the Atlas completion itself was fixed by running a high tier map (minus my uniques for some reason), I'm no where near getting a decent map pool again, nor have I been able to do any quests or general atlas progression. For a bit I tried running some legacy maps, but it was extremely demotivating and required a lot of extra inventory space that I don't really have despite having purchased all the QoL tabs + a few premium stash tab bundles.

I hope GGG notices this and decides to make a small change for us here, only resetting it maybe once a year, tops. Prefferably not even unless strickly needed.

I second this notion. I'm thankful for the information here which confirms my theory and will help. That said, I'm not able to play so much that I can run through to the end in three months. Personally, I would like them to get to a final place with the layout of the atlas and then set a standard for standard league. They can vary it however they like for other leagues. Any new content can be made to mesh into the existing map.
So here's hoping because I would hate to think these resets are going to be the death of my continued play. One of my builds has already been nerfed and it'll be some time before I can redesign it to cope. I don't want to be dogpiled with chores every three months.

This is what I quit before last league started. I see it's not fixed in a reasonable way since then, so I'll stay gone - thanks for the heads up.
