Standard Atlas reset : is it supposed to happen ?

Hi,
I'm a returning player from a long time break of nearly 2 years. I play only in Standard because you know, I'm a filthy casual and I'm fine with that :p

I was back a few weeks ago and was not very surprised to see the Atlas reset. So I started to do maps and progress in it, and discover Delve, Incursion and bestiary (yes my break time was that long).

Now the atlas is reset again. Is it supposed to happen at every major update ?
Gladly I still have all my bench crafts and my Delve progression is untouched. My bestiary looks the same too.

With my casual pace, I can't even consider finishing the atlas before a new major update, so is the Atlas supposed to be reset at every major update, or is it a bug and how can I help to hunt it ?

I didn't reallocate any passive just in case my character needs investigation.

If you completed a (rare + vaaled) T16 map, you'll get all maps completed (except uniques and other T16s).

this is probably going to happen now every league start.

Mine is reset too and I just completed a (rare + vaaled) T16 map and tier 13-16 will not fill in.

I have a few more questions :


Will it complete maps I have never completed ?

Will it complete unique maps I have already completed ?

Is this available several times ? Like I complete a T10 map and everything below is completed, but if I complete later a T16 map will complete T10-T16 maps ?

Something similar has happened to me. (Sorry for my bad english btw)
I'm playing on standard. I had almost all atlas completed. Just some t15, t16 and 3 guardians left. (I had Hydra completed)
After the patch I have found my map empty.
After playing one of my pre-existing t12 map, I have unlocked automatically every map (and bonus) untill T11. So I guess (and this is a question) that if I play a T14 map for example, it'll unlock till T13, right?
The problem is that my red map pool is empty at this moment, so I can't test it.

Another question:
What happens now with my map pool? The new maps are different, so for example I can't put together 2 of my existent maps and on of the new atlas (the 3 with the same name, I mean) for the 3x1 recipe

Standard atlas only fills in all maps at the map tier and below if you run a legacy map. Running current series maps only fills in the ones you run.

Then I've lost all my t12 to t15 work, since my highest legacy map in my pool was a T12 T_T

At least, If we had known this in advance, We could have saved some T15 maps for after the patch, so we'd have at least the T14 completed >:(

Your character is not in a solo self-found league, so perhaps buy a high level legacy map from another player? ;)

I have traded and done a t15 legacy map and now I have all completed until T14 (inclusive).

I decided to experiment and here are some answers :

Completion of any legacy tier X map will complete all Tier X-1 maps, regardless of completion before.
Unique maps completion is saved and doesn't need anything.

This can be done in several parts : complete a tier 10 map (all 9 and below are completed), then later a tier 15 map (all 10-14 maps will be completed).

I did a legacy T10, then a legacy T14. Got exactly what I expected.

So yeah, I'll save some T14-15 for next reset.
