Can you tell me how 50% reduced damage and 50% global evasion will make a full ES build better? The only useful thing this unique provides for PA+RF build is crit chance and dex, since this build won't have any use for increased global EV, attack speed or HP.
It only seems great in a high EV build (IR or acrobatics).

AFAIK Starkonja reduces your damage by 50%, not incoming damage (it's like the mod on Redbeak, but instead of increasing by 100%, it reduces by 50%), meaning you will do 50% less damage for 50% increased global EV.

So you will do less damage, but if you are using righteous fire that translates to less damage to you as well.

then i agree its more suitable for an acrobatix build, or perhaps if iron reflexes counts the bonus too then a lot of poison builds will follow.

Righteous fire is not effected by mods like "less Damage" or "increase Damage". e.g. just try to use Redbeak with low life RF build, RF will do the same damage.

Only Burn Damage (and Inner Force) effects the Damage RF does. E.g. try Searing Touch, RF does 60% more damage than before

I can confirm stark doesn't affect the damage you take from RF, sadly. I tried.

That's because stark doesn't affect the damage you take from ANYTHING lol. It decreases the damage you do when your at low life, not decreases the damage you take.

yes but the thing is the RF damage you inflict to yourself is DAMAGE THAT YOU DO, that is the reason they were wondering if the damage you inflict to yourself will also be reduced. and again sadly no, the RF damage to yourself is only affected by burn damage buff and inner force

I have to say thank you to Invalesco for providing facts vs pure theorycrafting.

I've myself theorycrafted a lot to build a low-life caster using the new unique chest, and ended with about the same conclusions as Invalesco:
- hp based caster with koam's heart+Taryn's Shiver will always be more tanky and more Reliable (cf aliments+stun effects) than low-life caster builds.
- with PA/RF your damage 'could' be significantly higher than life build.
(I say could, because it's assuming your are ok with the idea of losing a lot of survivability, which would not be the case if you were playing hc).
If you try to have a good defense with PA/RF you won't have so much more dps.

According to me people are just wrong comparing a kind of 'glasscanon' low-life caster build vs a very tanky one (i'm basically talking about the koam's heart FP Krip's build).


I'm currently trying to gather the es gear needed for my future character (including the unique chest); I hope to be able to test this build out soon. But anyway, I don't expect it to be really superior to the life based caster build; just different, maybe a little bit more dps (with my current build idea I'll grab about all the es nodes, and about 5-10 points in offensive, and I would end with a character that will be a bit less tanky than the life based one anyhow).

To be honest firt time I saw people complaining about this unique I was very suprised, and made me want to compare Hp/SW builds. Anyway theorycrafting and real facts are different, I wanna test it out to see by myself how good can be this new unique chest with PA+RF.

The funny thing about threads like this one is it's like people don't even compare this SW with Kaom's Heart. How couldn't you see that Kaom's Heart is way way better, more OP than Shavronne's Wrappings...
Currently both chest have about the same value (in hc at least) as SW is very rare since it's new, but soon people will reallize that our old OP chest is more valuable as it can be used with more builds, and permit builds that are way better in defense. Yep, life>es in general.

ps: A little drawback with SW could be added, but if it's a too heavy drawback it'd just break it, and then no one would use it... -10% es recovery instead of +10% is an idea. But anything against low-life builds would be pretty stupid I think.
To be honest I think SW already has its downside since you won't pick CI, you will need to stack chaos resists (which is not that easy + very pricy on decent items).
