Does having an existing beta-key reduce the odds of recieving another?

Honestly I think it should.

using the search function with an * turned up 22218 pages of accounts. At 10 accounts per page that's

222180 accounts.

you have 288 chances a day.

I think recieving a beta key should halve your chances at recieving a key again, to be fair, and continue halving. This would still allow people who have keys to recieve keys (as there chances increase with each new person recieving a key.)

Also, does anyone know the specifics for the x10 multiplier for posting on the forums? Is is static for having posted once or does it increased based on the number of posts?

I'm not sure what you're talking about - are you referring to the beta invite timer?

If so, then I'll clear up a couple of misunderstandings:
1) The timer does not give out keys, it just puts accounts directly into the beta.
2) Accounts already in beta cannot ever be picked by the timer (regardless of whether they got in by the timer or other means).
3) "Friend keys" are given out to people in the beta at random, for them to distribute to friends or others on the forums. This system is entirely separate from the beta timer, and has nothing at all to do with the timer.

The 10x multiplier is just for having made at least one post on the forums.
Oh now I understand, thanks for clearing that up. When I falsely assumed the beta invite timer was giving away keys that were used to activate your account.

That makes me feel a lot better at the chance at getting a key, although it does still feel slim.

I made a thread earlier about knowing when you get a key, and it was answered that you recieve a PM and an e-mail. Is this the same with the beta invite timer, or is there another method of checking it after an abesence?

Thanks for the timely response, by the way.
If you are picked by the beta invite timer, it will email you and PM you on the forums.

If you are in beta receive a key to distribute you get a PM, I am not 100% sure if you get an email as well in that case.

If someone in the beta gives you a friend key to activate your account with, then you'll be notified by them by whatever method they use to give you the key - probably PM.
