Incinerate - no crit?

Is it intentional that Incinerate has no crit on it? With Freeze Pulse equipped I have about 23% crit chance, with Incinerate (lvl 9) the crit chance is removed from my paperdoll.

This is intentional, yes. Incinerate is unable to perform critical strikes. There are a number of reasons including Surgeons Flasks, permanent crit screen shake and strange burn damage interactions, so this was the solution we decided on!

note that you can still force it to have some crit chance with the critical weakness curse

I was considering using Searing Touch Incinerate.
Since there's a +burning damage mod on it, thought of building as a shadow, noting that crits are disabled though, that screws much of the thought behind that. I'm curious though, what exactly are the strange burn interaction? Because I could take the chance to burn node on the shadow's start... Thanks beforehand!~ |

Would the burn damage even be worth it? With the current mechanics of burn and the fact that the damage is based on the 20% efficiency?
