Is there something special about the ambush betrayal encounters?

Big fort, fine
little fort, fine
underground lair, fine

ambush, I get 1 shot every single time.

gear, life and resists are good for my level but the ambush means death 100% of the time if I chose to fight it out (i now just run from them because I'm sick of getting 1 shot)
It does not matter who is in the encounter, they all are stupidly OP, seemingly much more so than in the other encounters.

It's because Syndicate Silencers throw nets onto the ground that inflict guaranteed chill + 50% shock. If you don't notice it's really easy to stand on them and take a lot of extra damage.
That makes a lot of sense.

molten strike has a tendency to stay in place.

I got to 82 with melee in SSF HC. It was pretty easy tbh. I did every encounter and levelled up at every opportunity.

And I was off meta somewhat (jugg with static strike + poison with Herald of Agony).

It is about one's build. You need to layer defences. I had block, arctic armour, armour, a little evasion, max resists including chaos, endurance charges, flasks. No uniques.

Now I'm playing SC and dying all the time lol. It's a relief tbh!

The Syndicate graphics are still too polluted (even after the change GGG did). During the fight, the only thing I can see is green cloud. hehehehe

Moreover, I do not know for most of you guys, but those ambushes are very badly timed sometimes. Right when I click on a trapped essence, or when I jump into a shrine mobs or WORSE!!! when I attack a red beast. Yesterday I had a red beast with a yellow beast fight and that darn syndicate poped up!

There is a lot of complaints about the Syndicate, but I do think many are simply bugs. I had a fortification in a high level map (cannot remember the name, but it is that map with piles of corpses) and one of the syndicate member was frozen in the corpses. the low level mobs kept spawning outside the fortification, I kept killing them getting no experience. I had to leave the fight...hehehe

I honestly think GGG is doing a god job. It is not easy to balance a new game mechanic and they changed a boat load of them with this patch.

This is not league for evasion based melee builds. This is not league or even game for melee build overall, but melee evasive are worst of the worst. I can sustain ambushes with my labrunner, consecrated path juggernaut, unless I encounter some ranged freak like Tora or that second idiot, who runs back with some barrage or something like that, but even with my tanky build I have to close syndicate in the research every time, I want to level up. To conclude, create some ranged char with bow or semi ranged spellcaster and forget about melee in PoE, unless you want to run very specific location only, like labyrinth.

I'm playing acro/evasion based melee this league, have no serious issues with syndicate (except mastermind, my game freezes on every dialogue sequence while I keep taking damage).
Normal fights are rough, but fair.
