Download Problems. "Checking Resources?"

Hi, I watched my friend play this game (Path of Exile) recently and I wanted to try it for myself.
However, when I started to download the game, it just says "Checking Resources" and wont go anywhere beyond that.
Does anyone have a problem fix for this?
Note: I have tried repairing via the installer. No luck there

I am Having the same problem

Try to run PoE as administrator. Just letting you know Checking Resources take a long time depends on your machine. Give it some time. I installed PoE on my 3 year old laptop and it takes at least 2 hours of checking rosources resources and plus the installation.

One more reason that I think why is this taking so long is you might have a bad hard drive.
