Coruscating Elixir

Coruscating elixir with umbilicus immortalis is outright killing spectres, rather than putting them at one life. The flask says it is supposed to remove all but one life. Bit caught off guard, because I expected it to work as advertised, and for my spectres to be able to leech life from the damage dealt.
