this is what I have been doing and seems to work pretty well.

for weapon just get koams primacy and as far as gems leap slam and heavy strike with life/leech on hit, accuracy, or speed, increase weapon melee damage, fire damage (anything that increases damage). and use auras depending on what you need like hatred, anger, or determination.

first we cant decide both for you, thats something you'll have to come up with.

in this game theres many ways to build an axe wielding marauder. the question becomes what style do you want?

for axes the main attribute about it is that its pure damage, it doesnt offer anything in the form of a special stat like all the other weapons, but it does have the highest damage per second of the same level.

but what this stays now is that it fits perfectly and unperfectly with all the different types of builds.

so what I would suggest is to go to the wiki, http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Skill_Gems#Gems

and check out all the abilities this game has to offer. figure out what abilities you'd like to use (make sure they are compatible with axes, which most are, but there are some that arent) and from there you'll have the seeds to make your own build
