You inferior linear regulators, bow down for I am a SMPS, a much more efficient and nearly lossless voltage converter. I noise not for there are great capacitors at my output and a bleed resistor for good measure. Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED. That doesn't stop you from being a much more complicated and expensive design requiring a far larger number of components, more prone to weird failures than Ye Olde Reliable(TM) linear regulators!
