Soul Catcher and Fireball/Vaal Fireball issues since this mornings mini patch

It is taking an extremely high amount of mobs killed to get the 18 souls, pathfinder with 54% flask effect and a soul catcher, to cast Vaal Fireball. I am having to kill even more than 30 which is the normal amount of souls to cast this spell anyway.

I have been farming BC with this build over 600 maps in the last 3 days. Something has gone wrong with this combo in this note-less mini patch.

Nevermind. Vaal'd both purities and both went vaal which means my souls aren't all going to VFB. Nothing happened here.
