steam not validating after patch

I downloaded the 4.5gb patch but its been stuck bouncing between validating and in queue for the last 5-6 hours.
I tried restarting steam and validating game cache but hasn't corrected the issue. Last bumped on Sep 1, 2018, 12:13:08 AM
