Optimal settings for GTX 1060 6GB? Experiencing frames in the 30's after NVIDIA driver update.
I just updated my NVIDIA driver to version 398.36 on my GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB Ram, i7-7700. I'm experiencing a pretty big drop in frames compared to pre-update.
Before, on max settings, I was sitting at a steady 60fps. Now I'm all over the place 30-50. I've reinstalled driver to see if it would help, and didn't make any difference. I'm reinstalling POE right now to see if that'll do anything, not very optimistic though. Anybody have any ideas? Might revert back to my old driver if I can't figure this out. _____________________________________________________________ Update: The reinstall didn't do much, so I've been monkeying around with settings and looking up older threads for answers and I'm seeing a bit of progress. First thing I had to do was set PhysX on NVIDIA Control Panel to GPU only. I also turned on Multi-Frame Sampled AA. This helped a bit. Prolly the biggest improvement was when I deleted my Path of Exile folder in 'My Documents/My Games'. Once I deleted it and ran the game it recreated the folder and things ran a bit smoother. No idea why exactly. I getting much better frames on DirectX 9 than I am on 11. Now I'm averaging 50fps. Still not the 60 I had before driver update. Running out of ideas. I downloaded the most recent driver from nvidia for my gtx 1030 and went from 170+ fps to under 60... Probably gonna consider a driver rollback
