Elder Influence Acting very strangely

My elder influence has been acting very strangely today. I had him influenced phoenix and the red maps close to it, then I did hydra to set up uber elder. Then, after completion of hydra, elder influence teleports all the way to mesa and cursed crypt, which was just on the edge of the previous influence. Multiple elder influenced maps and the uber elder setup were lost for seemingly no reason.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Hello there.
I checked the maps you described to see what could have legitimately caused that.
The most likely scenario is that your elder influence suffered multiple cuts on the same turn, which sometimes happens.
More specifically, i'd say you got cut at both Basilica (from Palace) and Overgrown Shrine (from Pit).
The result would have been 3 different pieces of 2 maps each, the algorithm randomly (and unfortunately) selecting Cursed Crypt & Mesa as the remaining one.
