Lightning strike / Frost blades
What are the differences between these 2 skills? Some say lightning strike is decent, some say "light sucks, frost better", but no valid reason was given. I see that light has a bit more base dmg, and less projectile dmg, while frost has lower dmg, but same projectiles, is that it? Light projectiles deal less dmg than frost projectiles? Or there is something else ?

i suspect the threshold jewel that grants 15% cold penetration each for a total of 30% cold penetration in a completed build might have something to do with it

The big problem with Lightning Strike is that the projectiles move along the ground rather than through the air. That means any terrain just butchers them, and there are a few enemy types that they can't even hit.
Also, cold is much more useful than lightning against anything other than bosses (freezing is amazing) and synergises better with the lower-right portion of the passive tree and a few unique items. Also also, Frost Blades is a much better single target skill (though still not great) as it deals higher damage thanks to the threshold jewel and can hit from medium range. Lightning Strike does have one big upside — you don't need to hit anything with the melee portion to trigger the projectiles. However, Ancestral Call has made that much less important.
