Possible to make Heralds trigger with Traps and Totems?

It always annoyed me that the herald effects only trigger when "you" cast or attack. It would be nice with the upcoming trap changes to make it so that they can trigger herald effects.

Can anyone think of a some sort of abuse that this can cause?

It would be great to make an elementalist trapper again. Hopefully the hint that bex gave about 'being close to crossing another thing off that list" is the ignite buff. One of my favorite builds ever was a full fire conversion lightning trap (or 90% converted) that prolifed ignites.
