There has to be some trick I'm missing here. I take all the sword AND axe nodes i can get and my dps with those skills isn't a tenth of that.

Good old vortex might be able to become great again.

It's based on available mana and mana regen.
You have to deplete 20000 mana in whatever time frame your build can sustain the mana cost.

Hey guys, someone directed me here...

Honestly, those skills aren't worth using in PVP. I just use Contagion to kill most people. For those who take CI, I use L4 enhance (5 in chest) + 15% beam length Indigon for a lot of beam length.

This item really isn't what I'd consider to be a problem in PVP. Bear trappers like Fyndel will still beat you no matter what, especially given the ramp up time of 2-3 seconds or so. The most I can do is spam contagion everywhere in the Sarn Arena when dailies reset.
