100% increased onslaught effect question

100% increased onslaught effect (from raider avatar of the chase) means 40% increased attack speed, movement speed and cast speed? Seems very strong, or does it not work like that?

Onslaught will give a total of 40% IAS/ICS/IMS with the Onslaught branch, yes.
The thing about that branch though is you probably have onslaught near 100% of the time anyway either from pots, on kill, or through other gear, is it really that substantial a gain to drop 4 ascendancy points into it for double effect considering the gains on the other ascendancies

You're forgetting the better modifier, namely 25% More Chance to Evade. Going from 70% to 87.5% Chance to Evade is crazy good, just over halves the amount of Attacks that do Hit. Plus, going Slaughter means you don't need to spend a highly valuable Flask slot on just 20% IAS/ICS/IMS.

well I mean, saving a flask slot is never a bad thing.

and it wasnt easy to keep up against bosses, now itll be permanent

Yeah many people don't realize how strong this is. It's not that hard to reach 50% chance to evade and with blind on hit jewels it's real trivial to blind everything in your path and have capped chance to evade. Evasion cap is 95%, going from 75% reduction to 95% is equivalent to gaining 80% multiplicative reduction.
Also while it's true that onslaught is pretty easy to get trough flasks and on kill effects, the on kill effects are unreliable vs bosses and silver flask takes up a flask slot, which has downsides of theri own.
The onslaught path is severly underrated.

How does this work if the enemy is blinded but I only have say 30% evade chance?

Well if you have 30% chance to evade, it would become 65% vs a blinded enemy and the onslaught path would multiply that by 25%, making it 81%

It was never really underrated. Just very hard to fully utilize vs Most endgame bosses because if no adds are present you wont have Onslaught (A silver flask barely helped for Guardians or Shaper). Now with the MS Nerf on the Phasing path the onslaught path will see more use (40% MS with increased duration? goddamn count me in).
Alright then,so with that i get 40% IAS/IMS, whats the point of going frenzy path? Even with 10 frenzies, the onslaught is still better in every way...
Except for a few builds, i think onslaught path will take over the frenzy path now, or is there something i am missing?
