When pairing this with a spell, your character will perform a basic attack when casting that spell. You will have X chance to cast that spell on attack. Works with Claws, Daggers, unarmed.

I think something like this would be great, it would add variety and fun to melee builds. I don't intend for the numbers or requirements to be anything other than to make sense out of the suggested skill. I would've added ranged attacks in, but that should be another gem that's less effective in my opinion, ad range have greater survivability. Lightning strike was the idea behind this ability. Quality could increase damage or chance to cast. If limited to projectile spells, it could increase projectile speed or if including aoe it could increase radius/area covered

That's cool, but I don't see how those would work. Wouldn't you want kotr, anyways? But this suggestion is to give intell characters an incentive to melee, and to open up another gameplay choice/style. Call the skill what you will, but it doesn't really matter. RPGs have lots of similar verbiage, that doesn't mean you have to exclude something.

KOTR has very low attack speed. You just stand there summoning it for like 4 minutes while mobs keep attacking you.
So that's a no.

Well actually bahamut is kind of lengthy too

Add (Blue gem) Summon Choco-Mog then :P
During all FF7 summons, the enemies are locked in for the duration, KotR does far more damage, and all that regen time.. but in this game Phoenix would be most useful if final attack made it in. But this is silly, I made a suggestion about a chance on hit support gem that could very well fit in this game. It's similar to something from another game, oh well. Can you imagine a claw witch casting various elemental skills by attacking? It'd be fun, isn't that the point?

Possibly link the suggested gem to 5 spells and be able to cast them at random? The damage wouldn't be very high, but it would definitely fill a certain niche.

I just picture a claw witch that doesn't have to abandon her entire skill tree, and can pick up a few elemental damage nodes and make use of spells, even if she doesn't necessarily cast them herself. A Shadow and Templar could also make great use of this, as they could easily use intellect and melee.
