Spectral shield throw + The tempestuous steel

Hi

So i read the thing about -let's call it SST- SST, and i wondered "what weapon would work with this ?"
until eventually i stumbled across this while browsing the uniques list on the wiki :

Nothing in the world beats that, right ?

edit: Wait they didn't say anything about the skills base crit chance... can it even crit ?

The only things on Tempestuous Steel that will apply to SST are the added damage as elemental mods. The rest only applies to attacks made with the sword itself.

Base crit chance 5%, and it gains 1% crit per 100 ES on the shield.

darn i didn't notice the penetration wouldn't work... i'm genuinely curious tho, how is this different from, say, Lycosidae's "hits can't be evaded" ?
It's on a weapon. There are a lot of mods that are local to the weapon (or armour piece) if they're on that item, but the same wording on a different item is actually a totally different mod and is global. Can't be evaded is one of those. It can be a bit confusing.

It's not 1% per 100 ES, it's 0.1% per 10 ES. That's an important difference.

they are worded slightly differently too
Since we're at it, you have any idea how this attack should be used ? and therefore what weapon to use... i am firmly determined to build around it for the next league but i don't rly know how

I'm personally a hipster so Advancing Fortress is the obvious choice for me. Capped block and decent damage = happy hipster.

Most people will go with Shaper statsticks though. Grab anything with x% of physical added as (Elemental). To be fair Snorkle_uk pointed out some budget options in the other thread too like Death's Hand (although I wonder if SST hype will make the price go up?)

i think we shouldn't forget about the chain weapons as well (i can't remember the names though) i feel like increasing this thing's clear speed won't be that easy

Not sure I understand correctly...
On The Tempestuous Steel, it says "Hits can't be evaded". It doesn't say: "Hits with this weapon can't be evaded".
So to me this should mean that with this weapon, any skill you use, that "Hit", can't be evaded, regardless of where the skills are socketed.

Am I wrong or? Cause if that's not the case, their wording is complete trash (sorry for the language).
