Multistate cells #nonsense
So let's say a cell has 'k' number of states, where k is an integer and at least two. Consider a network of such cells.
If you were able to dictate the state of each individual cell, you would be able to store data. Now if you have multiple accessors, manipulating the cells and responding to them, these accessors could be said to have a shared memory. - 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0- 0 * - < <739610877-3104-376.101077-1106.75103739110792103.108-5'92.9410776.> - 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0- 0 * - < Last bumped on Jan 31, 2018, 4:07:25 PM

Conceivably, people themselves -- ie, human individuals -- could serve this function.

Yes, humans may exchange ideas through conversation if that's what you mean.
You won't get no glory on that side of the hole.

People already serve such a purpose.
When looking at the world in a micro state rather then a macro state, then humans reflect nerve tissue the closest in my opinion. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
