[3.1] Blade Flurry Scion - cheap to start, beginner-friendly, insta-leech

Introduction

This version of Blade Flurry requires only one unique item worth few chaos orbs at the start of a league to outleech most of the content. Check Gear or Build concept section for more info.

1. Build concept
Spoiler

Due to changes to Vaal Pact we can't leech life instantly, however this unique claw allows us to do just that: "Gain life from leech instantly from hits with this weapon". Thanks to that we don't need to worry about Vaal Pact changes, because we will have insta-leech anyway.

2. Pros/Cons of the build
Spoiler
Pros:
+ cheap to begin
+ beginner-friendly
+ good clear speed
+ fast movement speed (using Whirling Blades)
+ high damage (depends on the gear)
+ most of the content viable

Cons:
- not the best AoE (especially with reduced AoE mod on maps)
- best/endgame gear may cost you 15+ exalts
- you can get one-shotted very easily on harder maps

3. Leveling guide
Spoiler

Coming soon.

4. Skill tree/Path of Building link

5. Ascendancy, Bandits, Pantheon
Spoiler

Ascendancy:
For our Ascendancy subclasses we pick Raider and Assassin.

Order of spending points:
Normal lab: +40 Dexterity, +1 Passive Skill Point
Cruel lab: Raider Ascendancy, +1 Passive Skill Point
Merciless lab: Path of the Ranger, +20 Dexterity and Intelligence
Eternal lab: +1 Passive Skill Point, Assassin Ascendancy.

Raider Ascendancy:
Good for clearing maps, onslaught (extra movement/cast/attack speed) while you have full frenzy charges, you can gain frenzy charges by hitting rare or unique mobs.

Assassin Ascendancy:
Best dps option due to Path of Building calculations, very good boost to crit chance, power charge generator, maim on crit strikes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bandits:
Kill them all for +2 Passive Skill Points which is good for jewel sockets or pick Alira for crit multi. I'd suggest killing them all.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pantheon:
Major God:
Soul of Lunaris - for maps
Soul of Solaris - for bosses

Minor God:
Soul of Tukohama or pick whatever you like

6. Gear
Spoiler

Helmet:
- best in slot, inc. Blade Flurry damage gives us even more dps, but that enchant can be expensive
Starkonja's Head - good defensive option with hp + crit
Rat's Nest - defensive option with some more crit
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Body armour:
Use rare body armour if you need to cap your resistance.

- I'm using Belly because I don't have big amounts of hp in skill tree
Carcass Jack - gives us more dps and AoE but few hundred hp less, but in my opinion it's not necessary, we have huge amount of damage anyway
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Belt:
- it's probably the best option, allows you to intimidate enemies (they take extra physical damage)
Darkness Enthroned - you can try this out, but as I calculated with Path of Building it gives me less dps, unless I create very good jewels which can be hard to get
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boots:
- best in slot, stun/freeze/temporal chains immune, a lot of hp, enchant gives us nice amount of dps
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gloves:
- good rare spiked gloves are probably best option, get on them some hp with res, flat physical, attack speed
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mainhand:
- only required unique item if we want to insta-leech, good option would be corrupted claw with Culling strike

Offhand
- rare weapon with phys as extra cold/extra fire gives us insane amount of dps
Moonbender's Wing - this is the budget axe, you can clear endgame with this axe no problem, damage is enough
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rings:
- Steel rings or Opal rings would boost your dps a lot.
- Try to get as much resists as you can on the rings. Other stats that would be good are flat physical damage, elemental damage with attack skills, hp, accuracy, attributes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amulet:
- global crit multi, elemental damage with attack skills, flat physical damage, hp, resists

7. Flasks
Spoiler

Only thing we need is Diamond flask with bleed immune. We are immune to freeze due to Kaom's Roots.
Try to balance all resistances or at least cold resistance for the Wise Oak.
Taste of Hate give us nice dmg mitigation, try to get this flask before doing endgame content. It's expensive, usually few exalts, but it's worth it.

8. Gem links
Spoiler

Links in order:

6link: Blade Flurry, Melee phys damage, Elemental damage with attack skills, Inc. AoE/Conc. Effect, Maim/Damage on Full Life, Hypothermia.

Auras: Hatred, Herald of Ash, Vaal Haste

Curses: Orb of Storms, Curse on hit, Punishment (or Elemental Weakness, depends if you want more attack speed or just damage)

Movement skill: Whirling Blades, Faster Attacks, Culling strike (with quality for extra attack speed), Fortify

Other gems: Summon Ice Golem, Blood Rage (only if we are using Maim Support on mapping), Ancestral Protector, Frost Bomb
