Abyss League Challenge Notes

Just some quick notes on the challenges for Abyss League, so that everything is in one place:

Abyss Helmet: You can get it just from trivial challenges
Abyss Wings: Get all 13 trivial challenges, all 4 white map challenges, and 7/11 of the yellow map challenges.

Trivial challenges. These basically require you to beat Act 10. You might need to go back and finish up anything you missed, but nothing in here requires rare drops or anything difficult.

Open Abyssal Trove: You'll likely get this by the end of the first act.

Use these currency items: You'll likely get this by the time you complete act 10, just from upgrading equipment. If you still have anything left in here, just use the currency.

Items from vendor recipes: Vaal orbs are from selling Vaal gems+Sacrifice fragment, and the easiest way to get an Orb of Chance is from selling a rare item with its mirror. (From strongboxes with a mirrored property on them, so keep an eye out for those.)

Complete these encounters I: You'll likely get this by the time you complete act 10.

Socket Abyss Jewel: The abyss belt is the best option for belts this league anyway and is common. The passive tree might require you to spend a few refund points, but you get plenty.

Vaal Side Area Items: You'll likely get this by the time you complete Act 10.

Defeat these Act Bosses I: Beat Act 5.

Complete Abyssal Depths: These are rarer than Abyssal Troves, but they do appear. Complete all the abysses you find, and you'll get one eventually.

Kill These Unique Monsters: These are guaranteed to appear in the appropriate area.
Riptide: Tidal Island in Act 6
Fleetfreak: The Ridge in Act 6
Tunnelworm: Northern Forest in Act 7
Blightblade: The Temple of Decay Level 1 in Act 7
Effigy of Fear: The Imperial Fields in Act 8
Nightbringer Lucius: The Lunaris Concourse in Act 8
Regulus, Sun's Herald: The Solaris Concourse in Act 8
Boulderback: The Foothills in Act 9
Droolmaw: The Belly of the Beast in Act 9

Defeat These Gods: These are guaranteed to appear in the appropriate area, and are generally easy to find.
Tukohama: The Karui Fortress in Act 6
Abberath: Prisoner's Gate in Act 6
Ryslatha: The Wetlands in Act 6
Ralakesh: The Ashen Fields in Act 7
Gruthkul: The Dread Thicket in Act 7
Yugul: The High Gardens in Act 8
Shakari: The Oasis in Act 9
Garukhan: The Quarry in Act 9

Complete these Quests: These are optional sidequests, but as long as you keep an eye out for sidequests in town, you'll be fine.

Identify Abyss Jewels: You might not be IDing magic jewels by default, so keep an eye out for those. None of them are that hard to find.

Defeat These Act Bosses II: Beat Act 10.

White map challenges. These require the ability to run maps, and possibly some grinding, but don't require the ability to run higher-tier maps. (I'm putting the cut-off at T6.)

Complete Abysses (in maps): You usually get at least one abyss per map. Just keep running them.

Identify 100 Unique Items: You'll likely be close by the time you complete Act 10; the higher magic find in maps should push you over the edge.

Defeat Abyssal Lich: You'll probably find one while completing the 100 abysses challenge. Abysses will sometimes create Abyssal Depths, and Abyssal Depths will sometimes have a lich as the boss.

Fully Upgrade Your Hideout: global 820 is your friend here. You just need to get one master to level 7.

Yellow map challenges. These require the ability to be able to beat a Tier 10 map, and might need some grinding.

Complete Zana Missions: The difficult one to find is the "unique item" challenge. Keep running daily missions and Zana missions you find in maps, and you'll get it eventually.

Achieve Ascension: Most people will just pay someone to run them through the last labyrinth. If you can beat T10 maps, you should be fine, but getting there without the last lab is a bit annoying.

Complete These Encounters II: Most of these are fine. The two or more tormented spirits one is a bit nasty to get via RNG, but the Shore map boss (Tier 8 map) consistently creates tormented spirits at 50% and 25% health. Defeat him, making sure those spirits possess the boss, and you'll get this.

Complete These Encounters III:
Belcer: Shore Map, T8. He releases the spirits at 50% and 25% health, so watch your DPS. Also completes the hard bit of "Complete These Encounters II".
Reaver: Chateau Map, T4: Go all out on DPS, or kill him from off-screen, or use a decoy totem.
Drought-Maddened Rhoa: Arid Lake Map, T2. Just click all three nests, then kill it. This does make it harder, but it's a T2 map, so whatever.
Witch of the Cauldron: Burial Chambers Map, T3. Kill the zombies, (while they are reasonably close to the boss) but don't attack the boss. There's no indication that you've made it to 30, but there is a line that appears from the zombie to the boss whenever soul eater fires, so either count those, or guess.
Hybrid Widow: Arachnid Tomb Map, T10. This will occur every so often, so just get the boss low on health, wait, then you have 10 seconds to kill it once it fires. (Your damage will be decreased.)
Gnar/Stonebeak: Canyon Map, T4. Kill one boss before the other, then run another Canyon Map, and kill the other boss first.
Erythrophagia: Phantasmagoria Map, T6. Stand in the very center of the arena when you kill the boss.

Defeat Inflenced Enemies: Agents of the Void appear some of the time while fighting the boss of Shaper-influenced maps. Fiend portals appear in Elder-influenced maps. (They might need an influenced area, as opposed to single maps. The first few Elder-influenced maps I ran didn't have any, but once I ran a map that was part of a larger Elder-influenced area, I found 6.)

Complete Unided Rare Maps: You can sell 3 rare maps of the same type to get an unided rare map of one tier higher if you're having trouble finding an unided rare map for a particular tier. (They're not that rare.)

Reach Level 90: You need to run a bunch of yellow maps to get here, but it's just time-consuming, not random.

Level Up a Gem to 20: Also time-consuming, but not that hard.

Complete These Sextant Mods: Quality Bonus, corrupted items, and rare strongboxes mods can only occur on yellow maps and journeyman sextants.

Complete Influenced Maps: It requires you to run 600 maps, but there's nothing complicated here.

Complete Unique Maps: Trading for most of these is surprisingly cheap, but do your research first. Getting these without trading is annoying.

Red map challenges. These require the ability to beat very difficult challenges. These are above my skill level, so I'm low on clues here.

Shape These Maps: I think this requires completing a T15 map. I'm not completely sure of the new mechanics here.

Defeat The Elder: Well, you need the ability to complete Red maps, and to defeat the Elder.

Complete Twinned Maps: There's some Red Maps in here.

Complete Maps With Eight Mods: You need to complete a T15 map with 8 mods.

Complete Deadly Encounters: there's a T16 map in that list, and it's not the hardest challenge.

Defeat Elder Guardians: ???

Complete These Encounters V:
Pale Council is like, upper T10 map boss difficulty.
For Breachlord, I'd compare it to Oba's Cursed Trove. (That's a T12 map which needs to be cleared quickly.)
The essence isn't difficult, but it is RNG. Keep an eye on trade for this. If you're SSF, grab all the Essences of Corruption you find, and use them on the purple essences.

Complete These Encounters VI: ???

Complete Endgame Grinds: ???

RNG :(.

Complete These Enounters IV: The Echoing Shrine is the rare one. Cartographer's Strongbox is rare, but not as rare, rogue exiles is grindy, but not that bad. Clasped Hands is annoyingly grindy, but findable. I suggest just running maps as normal, and assume you're not getting this unless you find the shrine.

Defeat Following Abyssal Monsters: Ulaman is the rare one. You need an Abyss to spawn an Abyssal Depth area, the Abyssal Depth to have a Lich boss, and for the Lich boss to be Ulaman.

Identify Unique: I mean, maybe you'll find one? These only drop from Liches in Abyssal Depths, so good luck.
