Bizarre "Failed to get device caps" error on startup of game

Whenever I try to start path of exile from steam I get this error

foolowed by a bunch more error that look very similar to this

The game eventually hard crashes, and makes it impossible to start up the game.

Has anyone experienced this before? Should I provide more information?

Edit: I'm loading through POE client, not through steam.

-Seems to be a graphics card issue maybe? I rebooted and it works now.
