[Not a bug] iOS 11, the URL tag, and quote marks

To do that, we use url="www.example.com". The problem is that, with iOS 11, the keyboard changed and one of the changes is that " was replaced with “”. Look closely - they’re different. The URL tag doesn’t recognise those characters, so the tag fails to function.

The quote marks aren’t actually necessary, so you can get around this by omitting them. I’m posting this for anyone else who might have been affected by this and searched to see whether the ‘bug’ has been reported. And also in case people do report that the URL tag has stopped working, and GGG can’t figure out what’s prompting their posts. :)


tl;dr: Just use url=www.example.com instead.
